News. November 2018 – We celebrate 5 years 600Kids!

Education is the way. Also for the children in Myanmar. From this conviction our relief organisation 600Kids was founded in 2013. Since then we have been committed to a better school education for children in Myanmar, in the hope of giving them a better future.

In the meantime 5 years have passed, which we can look back on with much joy. With this anniversary photobook we give you an insight into these five years of work on site.

According to the motto: School education is the only way for children in Myanmar to escape poverty sustainably, we are looking forward to everything we can do with 600Kids in the years to come.

News. October 01, 2018 – E-Learning at Ma Lot High School!

E-Learning in Myanmar – Why?

Computers and the internet are indispensable in the modern working world – also in Myanmar. Basic computer skills enable High School students to significantly increase chances in the labor market. Another step to escape poverty. In addition, E-Learning offers new and cost-effective educational methods.

What did 600Kids do?

The High School and the Local Community of Ma Lot themselves came up with the idea, project- and syllabus-proposal, while 600Kids played a supporting role.

How is the project implemented?

A new Media-Classroom has been created. 600Kids took care of the electronic infrastructure powered by a diesel-generator and provided laptops.

News August 15, 2018 – Concrete Pathway at Taung Tha Lae

At Taung Tha Lae a concrete pathway, serving as a connection between buildings and toilet blocks, was completed with contribution of labor force of the local community.

News. 01. July 2018 – New school furniture and water tank for Pa Wein

At Pa Wine School – where 600Kids inaugurated a new building last March – we replaced the old school furniture with new school benches and desks for around 120 students. In addition, an elevated water tank now ensures a better water supply.

News 21 March 2018 – Inauguration Ceremony of Pa Wine School

After about four months of construction a new building with three classrooms has been finished at Pa Wein School. Accompanied by two of his daughters Dr. Michael Egli, Founder and President of 600Kids, attended the official inauguration ceremony.

News 15. March 2018 – Fence built at Thit To Chaung

As a pilot project 600Kids.org provided seeds and tools to grow vegetables in school gardens (horticulture) in four schools – Thit To Chaung, Ma Lot, Min Hla Su and Kwin Gyi – with the aim to continue future school feeding with vegetables harvested from school garden as a sustainable source. Children are taking part in plantation so they are able to learn about agriculture practically.

News 15. March 2018 – Water tank construction at Pa Wein

The construction of an elevated water tank for water supply for toilet use is ongoing at Pa Wein school. The capacity of the water tank is 500 gallons. While 600Kids provides supervision, materials and required technical support, the construction is done by the local community.

News 31 January 2018 – School Maintenance Activities

Periodic checking on school facilities was carried out in 5 schools and required maintenance list was recorded. Minor maintenance works is already ongoing in some schools while discussion with school committee is underway to implement required maintenance works in a few weeks.
