Most family benefits – such as B. Child benefit – there is nationwide. In addition, and only in Bavaria is there family benefit. With the family allowance, the parenting performance of the parents is recognized and appreciation can be felt.

Family allowance stands for freedom of choice:

Because parents themselves know best which care is most beneficial for their child. You can decide for yourself which care, upbringing and education is "right" for your child.

With the Bavarian family allowance, families with young children who have been receiving family allowance for two years will receive more money overall than previously with the childcare allowance and the state education allowance. Low-income families with small children and families with several children also benefit.

Freedom of choice for families

Parents with young children in particular have different ideas about how their child should be looked after. For some parents it is clear: “I want to spend as much time as possible with my child, especially in the first few years. This time will not be given to me again. ”Other parents want their children to get in touch with other children as early as possible promote and choose the daycare. And some parents can imagine the daycare center, but they say: “Mine Child is not that far yet. ”All parents with small children have to find the right path for themselves and their child.

The financial aspect is added to these very personal attitudes towards childcare: the phase of starting a family in particular is usually associated with a lower income and at the same time higher expenses due to the family growth.

Bavarian politics want to offer families options and thus create freedom to organize family life according to their own ideas.

Bavaria is the only federal state in Germany that strengthens all parents with one and two year old children with their own state contribution.

The Bavarian Family Allowance Act came into force on August 1, 2018. The family allowance has been paid to parents since September 2018.

Parents of one and two year old children benefit from the Bavarian family allowance. With the family allowance, the previous childcare allowance and the state education allowance are bundled and increased.

Parents are supported with 250 euros per month and child. From the third child, there is 300 euros per month. This means a total of 6,000 or 7,200 euros if the full reference period of two years is used. Family allowance is paid regardless of income, employment and the type of care.
