Orthodontics in Delligsen (near Alfeld): Straight and beautiful teeth!

We all wish for healthy, beautiful and straight teeth until old age. It is well known that nature does not always play a role here and that dental experts have to intervene.

We are experts for the correction of tooth and jaw misalignments.

With orthodontics we prevent and treat tooth and jaw malocclusions in children, adolescents and adults!

There are many reasons why teeth and jaws do not grow as we would like them to:

  • Congenital tooth and jaw malpositions
  • Teeth too big or too small
  • Constant thumb sucking
  • Injuries due to accidents
  • Early loss of milk teeth

Our orthodontist Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietmar Kubein-Meesenburg has many years of experience in the treatment of tooth and jaw misalignments and will find the right solution for you and your family. Together we bring teeth and jaws back on track!

How orthodontics can help you

Your dentist and orthodontist in Delligsen recommends an early check-up in the dental practice: this way we can detect possible undesirable developments in good time and start orthodontic treatment. The earlier, the better!

With a timely diagnosis, malpositions can be corrected optimally and gently! This also has a positive effect on your health and quality of life: The teeth look aesthetic, dental care is easier and you have no problems eating or chewing.

We use growth and biological forces to correct the deformities. This is why orthodontic treatment takes some time. It can take months to several years for everything to look the way you want it to.

We carry out the following corrections with orthodontics:

  • tooth status
  • tooth misalignments
  • tooth spaces
  • clash
  • temporomandibular joint pain

There is no age limit for orthodontic treatments. Healthy teeth and a functioning jaw are important prerequisites for young and old to stay healthy and enjoy life!

Orthodontics for children and adolescents in Delligsen

We come to our practice at the age of six for orthodontic treatment. It is important to set the course for a healthy development of teeth and jaws as early as possible. During check-ups, we see whether all teeth have found the right way or whether we have to help with braces, for example.

There are further possibilities to react to undesirable developments in children’s teeth:

  • Early loss of milk teethWhen one or more milk teeth are lost, we use so-called placeholders to keep the gap for the permanent tooth clear.
  • To avoid endangering the breakthrough of the permanent teeth, we can reduce the distance between the milk teeth or pull them out in an emergency.
  • Treating tooth decayWhen tooth decay damages the milk teeth, we treat the corresponding tooth and prevent tooth loss.
  • Prevent overbite Too frequent thumb sucking can lead to an overbite. With an oral vestibule plate we prevent the unhealthy habit.
  • Invisalign’s invisible braces allow many malpositions to be corrected easily and inconspicuously.

Unobtrusive correction with aligners

The plastic splints – so-called aligners – are very popular with our young patients because they correct tooth misalignments almost invisibly and gently.

In our dental laboratory the dental technicians make the splints especially for the young teeth where the permanent teeth have not yet broken through. Dental care is not affected by the splints because they can be removed at any time.

Straight teeth with multiband brackets

Multiband brackets are fixed braces with which we correct malocclusions of children, adolescents and adults.

The small parts made of metal, ceramic or plastic are glued to the outside or inside of the teeth and connected with wires, springs or rubbers. This allows us to move the teeth gently and safely in the desired direction over the long term. Brackets are hardly visible in the mouth and can be easily removed when they are no longer needed.

Orthodontics for adults

It is never too late to correct tooth misalignments. A beautiful smile with straight teeth always goes down well! It is especially important for our adult patients to have not only healthy teeth, but also aesthetically perfect teeth. Orthodontics offers many possibilities here!

Orthodontics for adults helps in the following cases, for example:

  • Before prosthetic restorations with bridges and crowns
  • Before an implant restoration
  • For complaints in the temporomandibular joint
  • With tooth status
  • For tooth gaps

Important prerequisites for orthodontic treatment are a healthy periodontal apparatus and good oral hygiene. In our practice we offer you a healthy combination for your teeth with dental treatment and orthodontics!

Ceramic brackets for inconspicuous correction

Anyone who has been suffering from tooth and jaw malpositions for many years knows accompanying symptoms such as tinnitus, extreme headaches or malfunctions of the jaw joint. However, many of our patients find it unpleasant to wear conspicuous braces for correction. In their free time as well as at work, they want their late tooth correction to go unnoticed.

Ceramic brackets are very inconspicuous and therefore a popular solution with our adult patients. The fixed braces are almost transparent and adapt perfectly to the tooth colour. Nobody will notice that you are wearing braces!

The brackets are glued to the teeth from the outside with a special adhesive. If necessary, they can be combined with metal brackets by bonding only the visible areas with ceramic. This is cheaper than the full restoration with ceramic brackets. In addition, they are particularly hygienic because bacteria can hardly adhere to the surface.
