Packing list family vacation in thailand

Packing list for a trip to Thailand with children

Toys, bathing suits, diapers … and your own favorite dress should also be included. It never fits in your travel bag! Doesn’t work – it works! Here you will find our packing list for a trip to Thailand with children, but of course also for long-distance trips with children in general. We packed clothes for about a week, after which, in our experience, you have to wash (anyway) …

Backpack or trolley case for Thailand?

Even though Thailand was and is a classic backpacker country, today most tourists travel with trolleys. The streets are usually well suited for this, and you don’t usually have to walk much more than a few meters (e.g. to the bus) on foot with luggage. Since we are also traveling with a buggy in Thailand, we have to strap one of the large bags on our backs every now and then. A backpack trolley like the Osprey Sojourn is of course particularly suitable for this because it combines both functions. You shouldn’t expect miracles from the backpack straps, but you can easily manage the 200 meters to the ferry.

Take your backpack with you?

In our experience, a child’s own backpack only makes sense if the child can carry it for at least ten minutes (fully packed!). So you shouldn’t choose the size too big. Our four-year-old son is proudly shouldering a frog-green children’s backpack from Deuter (12 liter volume) every few days, but of course there are also a whole host of other children’s backpacks in different sizes and colors.
