Pediatric dentistry – tooth ship in the triangulum

Pediatric Dentistry

CHILDREN dentists

After completing her studies, state examination and doctorate in Frankfurt am Main, she worked as a general dentist. During this time we soon realized that being a pediatric dentist is our dream job! We completed several years of further training in order to be certified for the main focus on children and youth dentistry at the Academy of Practice and Science and the German Society for Pediatric Dentistry (www.dgkiz.de). We are members of these societies, as well as the Federal Association of Pediatric Dentists (www.bukiz.de). In order to continue to specialize, we completed the postgraduate master‘s program in pediatric and adolescent dentistry. After many years of pediatric dentistry and advanced training, in 2015 we opened our practice for pediatric and adolescent dentistry "The Dental Vessel in the Triangulum" in new rooms.

CHILDREN’S DENTAL TREATMENT

Toothbrush school

Dental care starts with the first tooth. At the beginning the parents are asked, are the children able to write block letters with the fountain pen!

In order to teach the children the correct dental care and brushing technique, we offer the cleaning school in our children’s dentist’s office. This can be visited by children from 8 years and the parents also benefit from it: They learn in front of their children what they have to pay attention to in order to teach their offspring the best possible dental and oral care.

The toothbrush school is carried out by the trained prophylaxis team. In the toothed ship, the children learn what to look for when brushing their teeth and how it works properly.

Professional tooth cleaning

Professional dental cleaning for children and adolescents also plays a major role in dentistry. It is recommended from the age of six. The status of oral hygiene is examined and the children are shown where they have not cleaned properly.

The children are shown in a playful way what they will pay more attention to in the future and what they can do better. Then the teeth are carefully cleaned of plaque and tartar and polished. For this purpose, special devices are used, which are guaranteed to remove all stubborn, damaged coverings.

fissure

This risk is eliminated with a seal. The sealing is done with a special plastic. The grooves are filled and are no longer a breeding ground for bacteria and the like.
For children and adolescents, sealing is caries prophylaxis, which is even covered by the health insurance company up to the age of 18. More: Dgzmk guideline

High quality fillings

In order to keep fillings in children and adolescents as long as possible, high-quality materials should be chosen. And that starts with the milk teeth.
Anyone who uses high-quality fillings is certain that they will last until the teeth fall out naturally. These are plastic fillings. These are color-matched to the teeth, but are also biologically harmless and are considered to be particularly durable and stable.
High-quality fillings are therefore not only aesthetic, but above all practical: they last a very long time, do not trigger allergies or other reactions, do not harm the body and reduce the risk of suffering from tooth decay again.

children crowns

Which child doesn’t even want to wear a crown?

Children’s crowns are crowns for milk teeth completely destroyed by caries, which can no longer be saved by a normal filling.
The crowns in various sizes are mostly silver-colored and prefabricated and are placed on molars and the milk tooth is well supplied as a placeholder for the following tooth. When the tooth wobbles and finally wants to get out, it and the crown turn out as normal. Until then, the children were proud owners of molar princess crowns and molar armor.

children prostheses

Children are also not spared tooth loss. Frontal milk teeth can sometimes no longer be preserved, particularly due to caries, but also due to accidents. In this case, a prosthesis can be made, especially for the little ones among us. There are functional, but also aesthetic reasons. There are fixed or removable prostheses.

placeholder

Placeholders are important in order to leave enough space for renewable teeth after the milk teeth have been lost. This applies especially to the lateral milk teeth. If these can no longer be obtained, small clips are used. Otherwise, misaligned teeth or even displacements can occur, so that the teeth that follow, for example, do not have enough space and grow crooked. These placeholders can either be fixed and are worn for a certain period of time. Or they are removable and only have to be used at night. We would be happy to advise you on the options and options available for your child.

hypnosis

Pediatric dentists are trained in hypnosis techniques and ensure that the next time the child goes to the pediatric dentist’s office with less fear. Thanks to distracting stories and focusing on images that play in the children’s minds, they hardly notice anything about the procedure and can get down from the dentist’s chair faster than they thought.

nitrous oxide treatments

The treatment of patients with nitrous oxide is over 100 years old – and is still a proven method in dentistry.
Especially since the nitrous oxide is completely harmless. The method is particularly recommended for anxiety patients. Children and above all adolescents can get rid of the dental treatment with nitrous oxide in a relaxed manner.
The gag reflex is reduced and the feeling of pain is noticeably reduced.
The laughing gas is inhaled through a nasal mask. Smaller children have to be brave to put them on. However, this is not a problem for young people.
Inhaling the nitrous oxide has a relaxing and anxiolytic effect, but the young patients remain conscious. Only they are much more relaxed and the fear is better resolved.

anesthesia treatments

In the case of large, extensive treatments, the child’s lack of cooperation or attempts to treat it that have failed several times, we may recommend treatment under general anesthesia. This is supported by a professional team of pediatric nurses and anesthetists who monitor the anesthesia and supervise the waking up. In addition, our team is regularly trained to be able to look after your child optimally at all times, even in special situations.
