Project week “We are children of one world” 2018

More than twenty project courses are offered within the project days "We are children of one world" at the Greif primary school. The pupils can not only participate in projects of the teachers. Special thanks go to Mr. Au (guitar), Mr. Zweckel (cajon) and Ms. Engel (growing together), Ms. Müller and Mr. Zeufack (water in Africa), who took over their own projects for the little griffins.

Our student reporters visited many project groups. Here’s what they found out:

In the "Rainforest" project, the children made a trip through the rainforest. They got to know the animals and plants of the forest and designed many trees they made themselves.

In the project group "Movement games", the children had fun playing various games. They were also able to learn and try out many new movement games.

In the "Cajon" group, the children played cajon. Cajons are drums that you have to sit on and then drum with your hand. The students were most happy that they could play a new instrument at the end of the project. Their goal was that at the end of the project days they could even play something in front of other students on the cajon.

In the “England” group, the children were allowed to learn freely at a learning counter. They were looking forward to discovering things about England that they always wanted to know.

In the fairy tale course, the children read various stories and fairy tales. They wanted to make their own fairy tale character and paint pictures of the fairy tales.

In the "Plants" group, the children stuck leaves from trees. They read about plants in a book to get to know and determine the plants.

The group “Children’s Rights” wanted to learn all children’s rights. They dealt with children’s rights. And a right, for example, means: "Every child has the right to his own name."

The children learned common dances in the “Dance” project group or improved their existing knowledge. The students were happy that they could learn to dance. They particularly enjoyed the funny movements in some dances.

The group “potters” made a large tree out of clay during the course. They learned pottery and were looking forward to finishing their tree. The children particularly liked that they could do a lot by themselves.

In the "We grow together" project, the children built an insect hotel and planned to produce their own T-shirts and baseball caps. The students also looked forward to an exciting treasure hunt.

The group "Netherlands" made a profile about the Netherlands and researched the food from this country. They learned the numbers from 1-10 in Swedish and made their own lapbook.

The group "guitar" played ukulele in their course. Their goal was to play a song on the ukulele. The children particularly enjoyed the hours with Mr. Au.

The children read, wrote and tinkered in the "Europe" course. They particularly liked that they were able to learn something new about the many countries in Europe.

In the “Theater” project group, animal movements were re-enacted and animal videos watched because animals were portrayed in the play. The children also got to know many theater plays with Ms. Lenz.

The children of the group "Sweden – Pippi Longstocking" learned words in Swedish and heard stories from Astrid Lindgren. They painted the Swedish flag and made a Swedish portfolio. The children were particularly looking forward to the oat biscuit.

In the project course "Poland" the little griffins learned a lot about the country, its peculiarities and idiosyncrasies. Students studied the Polish language and learned about Polish food. The children also made a lapbook.

In the project "How children learn in other countries", the children designed posters. In order to learn about the countries, the students read many interesting books.

In the "Egypt" group, the children got to know Egyptian hieroglyphics. They made a lapbook, wanted to get to know a mosque and cook something typical of the country.

In the short "Sweden" the children learned numbers and letters in Swedish. They were happy to get to know the Swedish language. At the end of the project, the students painted a Swedish landscape.

In the project course "Journey through Europe" the pupils did handicrafts, painted and wrote. They made cards and made a children’s chain. They dealt with the national flags of Europe and went on an audio tour.

In the "Water in Africa" ​​course, the children deal with the continent of Africa. They learned how important water is, got to know African animals and played African instruments.
