Puzzle tasks in the jf

Posted on February 28, 2019 .

The exercise on February 28, 2019 started with the usual completeness check, for which we positioned ourselves in front of the garden shed. In order to be able to be divided into fair groups for the upcoming tasks, we positioned ourselves according to age and counted one two. The ones should go to one side of the garden shed, the two to the other side. The two sides were separated by a fire truck as a privacy screen – not that one of the others looked down! The two groups each got a task that they had to solve with the things on their assigned fire engine. The two tasks of the groups were as follows:

Group 1 had to lift a beer bench with full beakers on it, fold the feet of the bench and put the bench folded on the floor. And that without lifting directly, for example by boards or ropes and without touching the beer bench. Of course, no water should be spilled.

Group 2 had the task of getting a table tennis ball out of a plastic egg cup without crossing a circle laid out by the youth fire chiefs and without touching the egg cup or the table tennis ball.

Group 1 did its job after a long pause by placing four A-shaped ladders above the bench and securing them with ropes. These ladders were connected in such a way that four people, who were pulling a rope at the same time, could lift the bench so that two other people carefully folded the bench supports. All of this was a very difficult act in which everyone, especially the rope puller, had to listen to you and work in a coordinated manner so as not to spill anything. After an unsuccessful attempt, the second one worked and the bench lay safely on the cold floor.
Group 2 with the table tennis ball task had the difficulty that they don’t allowed to enter the circle. With a lot of thought, they also solved their problem with leaders. This group put four conductors together and put the two ends on wooden blocks. Two children sat on the two ends of the ladder to stabilize the ladder so that another light child entered the ladder center could climb and get the ball. Now there was only the problem that the table tennis ball could not be touched. To solve this problem, the children puzzled and came up with the idea of connecting two screwdrivers with adhesive tape and using the adhesive property of the tape to remove the table tennis ball from the cups pick up.

Ultimately, this group was also successful in solving their task and the groups demonstrated their solutions to one another. The exercise came to an end and the children gradually went home.
