The 9 best reboarder child seats at a glance.

Reboards are safer in a head-on collision than other child seats. However, only children up to approximately four years old can find space in it. So you don’t have to buy a new child seat afterwards, choose reboarder that can also be mounted forward.

Real reboarder are designed for weights of more than 18 kg. Do not make any experiments or tests when it comes to safety, but only choose real reboarders that promise a high level of safety. Optimally, the seat has a 5-point belt.

Norm group The new test standard since 2013 i-Size (ECE-R 129) indicates the suitability of the seats according to body size.

background: Many children become too tall to fit before reaching the weight limit.

The test standards ECE-R 44/03 and ECE-R 44/04 are based on body weight. They remain valid in parallel.

UN ECE Reg. 129 i-Size (UN ECE-Reg. 129) is a new child seat approval for the Norm groups 0, 0+ and I.

From September 2017 new child seats are only approved according to this standard.

Children must be in i-size seats up to 15 months backwards sit.

Important innovation: Seats according to the i-size standard are selected according to the size of the child. The division into weight classes is omitted.

The older guidelines ECE 44/04 or / 03 are used in parallel. Child seats approved according to these standards may continue to be used.

Holding device The harness is a 3-point belt and the classic mounting variant. It only minimally restricts freedom of movement.

5-point belts prevent an additional slipping out to the side of the child. They restrict freedom of movement to a greater extent.

Attachment type become a reboarder in addition to the ISOFIX device secured by another type of fastening.

This happens either through one Support foot, which is pulled out and supported on the vehicle floor, or by one Top Tether. The seat with a Tension belt attached to special hooks in the trunk or on the hat support.
