The 3D motion analysis was developed in cooperation with the sports science faculty of the TU Munich. So far, over 800 movement analyzes have been carried out on young rheumatism patients. And as always, there is only a shortage of money .
Our donations also put the researchers on the important solid financial basis, without which such fundamental and long-term projects cannot be carried out seriously. We cordially invite you as a donor to make your important contribution. Every euro donated helps the rheumatism kids, a really good thing!

We have been dedicated to our specialist area for over 60 years as Europe’s largest specialist clinic for rheumatology for children and adolescents. Treatment is based on the "Garmisch therapy concept" instead of. The concept juxtaposes medical, nursing, physical and occupational therapy as well as social and psychological aspects. This holistic and interdisciplinary treatment concept enjoys an international reputation.

Of particular note also the unique location of our children’s clinic in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the edge of the Bavarian mountains.
Inflammatory rheumatic diseases in children differ significantly from those in adulthood. The earlier they are diagnosed, the better they can be treated.

Early childhood rheumatism is a chronic disease that occurs not only as chronic joint inflammation (juvenile idiopathic arthritis) but also as connective tissue diseases (collagenosis) and vascular inflammation (vasculitis). The disease requires regular care for years. Therefore, in addition to inpatient treatment, we also offer support in setting up a patient-oriented treatment network.

We also treat chronic pain disorders in childhood and adolescence. At the pain therapy station, patients are taught modern strategies for coping with pain by an interdisciplinary team. The goal is to contain the pain, strengthen self-confidence, promote social integration and make the patient fit for everyday life.

The team of the Rheumatism Children’s Clinic

Rheumatism clinic does pioneering work

Practically oriented science is a cycle of data collection, data analysis and data processing, which leads round by round to new knowledge, assumptions, tests and knowledge in ever better quality. This requires sound specialist knowledge, time, patience and money. Just think back to what was difficult or unthinkable in your environment ten years ago and which is the standard today .

The children’s rheumatism clinic has been pioneering scientific work in close cooperation with the sports scientists at the Technical University of Munich for years. For this purpose, disease patterns and disease courses are examined over a longer period of time, extensive three-dimensional movement analyzes are created, sports and fitness programs are developed and optimized, etc. The measurement data, medical and biometric knowledge obtained flow into scientific articles, specific training programs for rheumatic children, etc. and are incorporated into scientific studies checked.

For a long time it was thought that sport and child rheumatism are mutually exclusive. The results of the 3D motion analysis and better therapeutic options have created the prerequisites for the integration of sports therapeutic elements in the functional treatment of rheumatic diseases in children in recent years.

In a nutshell: Who knows how, when, where and why children with rheumatism move incorrectly and what massive damage can result from this to their bodies can counteract this with properly dosed, targeted sport.

The 3D movement analysis helps the sick children from the beginning to enjoy sport and exercise again. Long-term physical damage and discomfort can be avoided, the children are completely better for life.

Our goal:
Make children’s worlds more colorful
