With the project "I come to school – so what?" – Build a bridge between kindergarten and primary school An important step in the cooperation between kindergarten and primary school was taken to enable a seamless transition. The promotion of language skills and perception are the focus of the promotion of children in the last year of kindergarten. There is a successful concept for this, which is carried out together with the kindergarten and the elementary school Neuhaus / Klb. was developed and implemented since 2003.

What we don’t want:

  • Anticipate the first school year
  • Reduce the competencies of the kindergarten teacher

Effects on the school:

  • The children of the first school level experience a harmonious and stress-free start to school with their parents and teachers.
  • The children can build on what they already know, and the parents are more relaxed about the new phase of their children’s lives because of the close cooperation between kindergarten and experience school.
  • The children have a familiar relationship with sounds and syllables.
  • Phonemic awareness, a particularly difficult chapter in the reading process, is present in all children.
  • Words are of course broken down into sounds, clapped for syllables, poured into rhymes, in one word, the use of language is relaxed and continues to be playful and significantly supports the reading process.
  • Not only the representatives of the participating institutions, but also the parents are fully convinced of the meaningfulness of the project.

After the transition from kindergarten to elementary school has been brought into the system well and only gives positive experiences in the implementation, joint projects are set in the transition from elementary school to the new middle school.
