Simple recipe for cookie cutters
This is how you prepare your cookie cutters
- Mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder and salt in a tall bowl. Beat the egg and add. Cut soft butter into small cubes and spread over the mixture.
- Mix everything together with the kneading hooks of the hand mixer. Pile crumbs on the work surface and quickly knead into a dough with your hands. But be careful: Never knead the dough for too long, because then it will burn, which means that the cookies become brittle and crumbly. Shape the dough into a ball and wrap it in foil for at least 1 hour, even better overnight, cool it.
- Before baking the oven to 180 ° C (preheat top / bottom heat). Line baking sheets with baking paper. Divide the dough into 3-4 portions. Place each portion on a floured work surface, lightly dust with flour and roll out 2-3 mm thick.
- Cut out rolled dough with shapes, pretzel shapes or shape yourself with a knife. Place on the trays and bake for 10-15 minutes on the middle shelf level.
- Take the cookies out of the oven when the edges are golden brown. Lift the cookies off the tray with a pallet, let them cool on a wire rack and decorate as you like.
Alternatively, here are a few suggestions on how you can shape your cookies:
How about if you made your cookies Pretzels or hearts forms? Tip: Bake a little longer because the dough is thicker here.
Suitable for the warm fruit tea in the afternoon: Cookies in the shape of a tea bag. Simply cut into shape with a knife, press a small hole in it and slide a thread through after baking and attach a small label. Then decorate with chocolate or icing.
A fancy change to the classic cookie cutters are biscuits in the shape of a button. Cut out the cookies with a circular shape, carefully stamp an edge with a smaller circle, then prick four holes into it.
