A newborn has no idea of day or night and that there is no rhythm here, especially if it knows nothing. In the first weeks of life, the daily rhythm is spent eating and sleeping anyway. There are 5 sleep phases within a period of 16 to 18 hours a day. From the 6th month of life, a longer continuous sleep phase of 6 hours develops and a nighttime sleep interruption in breastfeeding babies is to be regarded as normal.
From the third and the fourth month of life, the day’s sleep phase is also lost. The baby wants to perceive more of its surroundings and participate in everyday life. In the course of the first year of life, sleep becomes less and less and is then limited to two sleep phases, which take place at night. It also depends on the individual development stage of your child. In addition, there are vaccinations, which can also lead to sleep disorders in babies and toddlers, in which fever may occur immediately after the vaccinations.
Especially in the first weeks of life there can be troubled moments with a Newborns come because the child and also the parents have to really adapt to this new situation.
