Stroller accessories: the 10 most popular accessories for strollers

We all know those moments when you suddenly realize that you could have used a certain accessory for a long time. But if you have been without a cup holder for several months or years, for example, the drive to suddenly invest in this little convenience is no longer particularly pronounced and the remaining useful life may seem a little too short after such a long time. We have put together a list of the most important accessories so that you do not only notice the small conveniences of everyday life with children and strollers in a few years. In our opinion, these are particularly useful and practical and the parents who already use them no longer want to do without the comfort they are used to.

1. Awning / parasol

This is probably one of the most important accessories for your stroller. If possible, the delicate baby skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight and therefore an awning or a parasol is essential. With some strollers this accessory is already included, but if not, you should get it directly.

2. Footmuff

You really can’t avoid a footmuff. This accessory is very useful both in winter and in summer. In winter you need a warm, lined footmuff to protect the little ones from the cold and wet. A summer footmuff is also very useful in summer or on the warmer days in spring and autumn. It keeps the child warm and, above all, protects against wind influences. The universal footmuff is for both summer as well as suitable for winter. It does not keep you as warm as a winter footmuff and may be a little too warm for summer. However, it is an inexpensive alternative because you only have to buy one product.

3. Adapter for the car seat

If you want to use your baby seat (car seat) on the stroller, then adapters are necessary. The adapters ensure that the baby seat can be clicked onto the stroller frame correctly and securely. Here you should make sure that you buy adapters that fit on the one hand with the stroller and on the other hand with the baby seat.

4. Cup holder

The cup holder is not indispensable, as is sun protection. But it is really "nice to have". Everyone knows the cliché of the latte-drinking mother who goes for a walk in her pram. Cliché or not: It’s still nice to be able to park your drink on a long walk.

5. Stroller organizer

The stroller organizer is an accessory in the same category as the cup holder. It is a small bag that can be attached to the slider handle so that you can store your small belongings there. Here you will find cell phones, drinks, pacifiers, handkerchiefs and the like. your place. Very practical, and once you have it, you don’t want to give it back.

6. Buggy board / sibling board

The buggy board or sibling board is a board with its own wheels, which can be attached to the stroller. It is intended for the older sibling, who can run independently, but may need a break now and then and can ride on the board. The board is unfolded when it is needed and pulled up or folded back as soon as no one is standing on it.

7. Insect protection

If you want to park your baby in the stroller outdoors for sleeping, an insect screen is definitely a good investment. It is pulled over the hood and prevents insects from getting through to the baby. It is important here too note, that the net increases the temperature in the stroller a little. That is why it is important that the pram is not placed in the sun, but only in the shade if possible.

8. Pram chain

This cute accessory not only makes the stroller cuter, it also gives the baby something to look at when it is being driven around. There are different versions and there is something for every taste, e.g. Wood, pastel colors or soft toys. Regardless of which variant you choose: You should make sure that the chain is declared and labeled as a children’s toy. In this way you can make sure the toy is safe in case the baby comes over and puts parts in their mouths.

9. Castle

The lock is more of a necessary accessory and not just an accessory. A lock is not as natural as a bicycle lock in connection with a stroller. Nevertheless, it is important to have a lock with you when you are on the go and want to park the stroller. Strollers are expensive and very popular with long fingers. It is therefore better to connect the stroller once too often than later to be annoyed with a child in your arms that the stroller is no longer where it was parked.

10. Bag (diaper bag / shopping bag)

The diaper bag is not necessarily a stroller accessory, because you need the diaper bag wherever you are with the baby. But a diaper bag or alternatively a shopping bag that can be attached to the push handle of the stroller is really very practical when you are out with the baby. In this way, you have everything at hand and the bag offers additional storage space, which is particularly useful when shopping.
