So smart is fun!

Triggering an earthquake yourself, testing gravity, creating volcanic eruptions and tsunamis – children can do that in the special exhibition “The strong four”, a interactive exhibition about the natural forces of the earth. With the title of the exhibition “The strong four” are not only the powers of Earth, fire, water and air meant, but also four cartoon heroes with the names Eddy, Branda, Windy and Splash. The likeable four each represent a natural force and accompany the visitors through the exhibition. With the help of speech bubbles in comic style, the heroes explain the handling of the exhibits and provide the necessary background knowledge. The aim of the exhibition is to convey small and large visitors, how these forces affect our earth and what happens when they get out of control. This is Geography lessons at your fingertips – true to our motto “So smart is fun".

Time travel through the world of espionage

Children quickly find out in the German Spy Museum that agents already existed when there was no cell phone or internet. Modern touchscreens with pictures and maps show that numerous successful spies worked in antiquity and the Middle Ages. In addition, children gain practical espionage experience: How agents used to encrypt their messages can be found out using the Skytale or the encryption disk. The "air agents" that dangle from the ceiling cause astonishment: pigeons equipped with 100-year-old mini cameras (the first "drones"). Since communication techniques have always been very important to agents, children learn how to write their name in Morse code at an interactive station.

Touching and trying it out is the motto of the Munich Children’s and Youth Museum, which is at home in the side wing of the main train station. There are interactive exhibitions, workshops, games and fun for children and teenagers.

Play and discover – for the whole family

The children’s and youth museum is the ideal place for the whole family to discover and play. Because what is usually forbidden in other museums is allowed here: everything can be felt, tried out or even climbed. In this way, children and adolescents should truly experience and experience the world of different fields of knowledge. For this purpose, the museum always links science and play, art and nature, culture and technology in new ways. Because here, in addition to amazement, the focus is also on the practical acquisition of knowledge.
