Christmas is coming: The huge toboggan run is already set up at Potsdamer Platz, a few more days and then Unter den Linden will shine again and the Ferris wheel will be set up at Alex. For all those who want to get in the mood for the beautiful Christmas season away from the typical touristic locations, sip some mulled wine and eat raclette, we can recommend these great Christmas markets in Berlin. No matter whether high above the roofs of Berlin on the Klunkerkranich, directly on the Spree on the Holzmarkt or traditionally and neighborly on the Kranoldplatz: We definitely get into the Christmas spirit here.

November 15 – January 5: Christmas Garden – Botanical Garden

The Berlin Botanical Garden will once again be transformed into a sparkling and glittering Christmas Garden this year. Look forward to fairy lights, LED boats, a huge Advent calendar and exciting light installations. At the large greenhouse you will find a small Christmas market with mulled wine stalls, waffles and bratwurst as well as a skating rink.

November 30 – December 22: Vegan Christmas Market – Fehrbelliner Platz

Vegan is for lovers, at least around Fehrbelliner Platz, because the vegan Christmas market traditionally takes place there every Advent weekend. With vegan treats for the whole family, great live music and lots of stuff to browse.

November 29 – December 22: Heissa Holzmarkt – Holzmarkt

The disco ball becomes a Christmas ball on the Holzmarkt25 site. For a month the wood market becomes a glittering Christmas country with cinema, artists, shows, DJ music, carousel and indoor playground for the kids, biscuit baking and a fairytale hut. You can warm the body from the outside by the fire, as always there is homemade and brewed food against hunger. And you can also buy a few Christmas presents at the market stalls.

November 29 – December 22: Merry Markthalle – Markthalle Neun

The market hall is simply worth a visit in every season. In winter, the hall turns into a small winter dream at the weekend, which smells of mulled wine, cinnamon and pastries and has something to offer for everyone. The culinary journey goes from raclette and goose to handmade panettone and natural wine. So that you don’t just immerse yourself in the culinary season, you can also buy the first (sustainable) gifts here. November 30 – December 22: The highest Christmas market – Klunkerkranich

You will find the Christmas market with the most beautiful view again this year on the Klunkerkranich, high above Neukölln. Here you can shop for gifts, eat pizza, dumplings and quesadilla, warm yourself with alcoholic hot drinks and listen to concerts. For the kids there is "crane chicks" an extra children’s program.

Holy Shit Shopping is the club evening among the Christmas markets. Holy Shit Shopping combines industrial romanticism with beautiful contemporary design on 6,500 square meters. In two days you can shop for high-quality lifestyle products related to fashion, jewelry, furniture and product design, art, photography and literature from over 300 international artists, design labels and small manufacturers. There are also delicious drinks, music and a winter street food market.

December 6th to 8th: Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas market – Richardplatz

The Christmas market in Rixdorf is by far the most romantic in Berlin. If you don’t kiss at least one person between the historical backdrop of Rixdorf, founded in 1360, numerous artisans, mulled wine stands and mistletoe bushes, you’ve definitely done something wrong. There is also hot butter whiskey here, it sounds strange, but it tastes really delicious!
