With the Postbank Giro Start Direkt account, Postbank offers children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 22 an account with free account management and other attractive framework conditions, such as free cash withdrawals and a VISA card with the age of majority and creditworthiness.
We rate the factors very positively that the Giro Start Direkt account does not have to be converted into a current account at the age of 18. So it is also a good alternative for trainees and students.

How do I open a Postbank Giro Start direct account??
The Giro Start child and youth account directly at Postbank can be opened directly online. To do this, click on the "To provider" button below, for example, and you will be taken directly to the Postbank website. You will then find the "Giro Start direct" account under "Accounts and cards". Select this and click on "Complete online" on the right side of the page.
You will now be asked to enter some personal data – this includes your age and the type of employment of the future account holder. Here you can choose whether you or your child is a student or is still in training.
After you have given further information about yourself and the desired account, the order can be placed for the account. If you are not yet a Postbank customer, you must take part in the PostIdent procedure in order to identify yourself with your ID card.
Postbank’s online banking has already received several awards, but the general conditions and additional services also make this account attractive for children and young people.
