In the Sesto Dolomites to the Three Peaks

We wanted to do this for a long time: the hike in the Sesto Dolomites from the Fischleinboden hut towards Three Battlements. The Three Peaks are probably the best known picture of the Dolomites and stand for South Tyrol. We weren’t at the top, but with this description of the hike you come up – and the way through the Fischlein Valley was very nice for hiking with children in South Tyrol

So we come to the Fischleinboden hut
The Fischlein Valley branches off from the Sesto Valley in the South Tyrolean Puster Valley. We go on our family vacation with the Park your car up to the Fischleinboden hut on the paid parking lot for hikers (a lot going on, be there in time, preferably not in high season!) And start the family hike at around 1400 meters of altitude. First we hike with the children a few meters on a tar path in the middle of the beautiful mountain nature – surrounded by the Dolomites.

Then it goes on a forest path through the valley floor, with wonderful views. The surrounding peaks of the Dolomites appear ever higher. At the end of the valley, the Zwölferkogel shows its mightiness. We hike through the beautiful Almtal valley until we reach the Talschlusshütte at 1526 meters. After the hut, the hiking trail branches off to the right in the direction of “Drei Zinnen Hütte”.

We consequences to him and with every meter, the people decrease. The terrain becomes more alpine, the trail is easy for children with a certain level of fitness. With increasing altitude, the Einserkogel becomes more distinctive and distinctive. It can be seen where the rock fall on Einserkogel took place in 2007. At the bottom of the hut there are also pictures and further information.

After about 500 meters in altitude we pause at the Altensteiner Bach. Persistent and, above all, larger children can also make the climb to the Drei Zinnen hut and back after a tremendous view of the symbol of the Dolomites, the Drei Zinnen. Unfortunately it was too much for us today. The last few days we had already made too many programs and other hikes. Too bad, but still a great tour. Back the family hike follows the same path.
