Going out with the kids is a lot of money. You can also spend your free time completely free – with what is already available at home. Bet that with the following five ideas there is something for you too?

1. Leisure activities with kids that cost nothing: go on a smart treasure hunt

Turn long hiking tours or city walks into an adventurous mission. And without spending a cent. The magic word is: Geocaching, the modern treasure hunt for fresh air fans.

You can find out where treasures (“caches”) are hidden in the online database on the website “geocaching.com”. There are now several million hiding places worldwide. You can select the levels of difficulty of the search, the length of the path and the type of hiding places here. You enter their coordinates in a GPS-enabled device or in one of the numerous free apps (e.g. "CGeo"). And the search begins.

Good to know: Other treasure hunters often hide small or large cans in the places. In many boxes there are treasures like small toys that you can take in exchange for an equivalent item. Some treasures travel around the world like this. In addition, you will find a log book at the hiding places, in which everyone who finds it will write down. Before doing this, think about a funny family name together. Then you put the treasure back in its hiding place. But be careful: ignorant people, the so-called "Muggles", are not allowed to notice anything .

2. Leisure activities with kids that cost nothing: camping in your own living room

Eat together on a blanket, sing happily around the campfire and then cuddle in the feathers in the tent. This is also possible in your own apartment. Well, except for the campfire .

Transform your own four walls into a small tent camp – for nothing. For the tent you stretch a cord in the living room, throw a bed sheet over it and fasten the ends with heavy objects. Alternatively, you can stretch the sheet over chairs.

Your children can bring their own pillows, blankets and cuddly toys. The Christmas fairy lights create a cozy atmosphere. Of course, a campfire should not be missing. The "ignite"" you quickly with a bit of wood from the forest and an electric tea light in the middle. Maybe your kids have an idea for a great camp name? Old board games, stories and snacks make the adventure perfect.
