The TÖGEL FOUNDATION has been promoting sponsorships in developing countries since 1994. Allow godparents needy children access to healthy nutrition, medical care and education and thus help to build a solid basis for a better future for the sponsored child, his families and those around him.
Funded region
The sponsored boarding school is located in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, India, one of the poorest regions in India.
target group
The sponsorships are aimed specifically at children who belong to the Bhil tribe. 80% of parents are illiterate and therefore mostly only find work as day laborers or migrant workers. Under these conditions can they often fail to recognize the long-term benefits of healthy eating, medical care, and regular schooling and do not have the funds.
The aim of this project is to provide between 5 – 8 sponsorships per month in order to give children continuous access to healthy nutrition, medical care and education at the Bhil Academy.

Sponsored boarding school: Bhil Academy
From 1994 to 2004, Hans-Jürgen Tögel, 300 children from a boarding school in Jhabua and Madhya Pradesh in central India, supported with donations from Germany and through active development work on site. In 2004 the commitment from Germany led to the recognition and takeover of the school by the Indian government.
In 2004, Hans-Jürgen Tögel started, together with the action group Partner Indiens e.V. and the local partner BHILS (BHIL Initiative & Literacy Society), the construction of a new boarding school, the Bhil Academy. Today 300 children are taught there in English and Hindi, from kindergarten to 12th grade. In order to enable regular school attendance, the children are accommodated in the boarding school, cared for and given medical care.
Funded measures
From € 25 per month, a sponsorship covers the monthly costs for a child for healthy nutrition, medical care and regular school attendance at the Bhil Academy.
Sponsorship duration
You choose how long you want to accompany your sponsored child: 1 year (kindergarten), 4 years (elementary school), 8 years (junior high school), 12 years (college). You have the option to end your sponsorship at any time without stating reasons.
contribution
From only 0.83 euros per day respectively. 25 EUR per month respectively. 308 EUR per year change the life of your sponsored child, his family and his environment sustainably. Your help is of course tax deductible.
