Obituary for Karl Walter

We to take Farewell to Karl Walter, who left us after a serious illness and leaves a large and painful gap in our ranks.

With his death we lose a competent, helpful and reliable friend, whose warmth, humility and kindness ours Life made you richer.

In 1957 he joined the TSG, on the one hand actively practiced sport and on the other hand, he also worked as a board member for 33 years. From 1983 to 1997 he was chairman of the TSG.

The deceased was appointed Honorary Chairman in 1997.

At his 80th birthday I named Karl Walter “Mister TSG” for his special services to his club.

He was also the “builder” of our TSG building in Parkstrasse. He is the "inventor" of the TSG raffle for wine and the market.

He came to all meetings well prepared. His contributions have always been competent, factual and with sound specialist knowledge.

He has significantly shaped and supported our club life. His main achievement was that he knew how to combine sporting and human things in an exemplary manner and gave new impulses. His behavior was goal-oriented. He was also a master of organization.

With his positive outlook on life, but also with his discipline, he gave us self-confidence and joy in doing things, encouraged a sense of community and was a good role model for young and old.

With joy and interest, he actively participated in sport into old age and enriched and supported both our events and the diverse social events with his presence. Beyond Wiesloch, Karl Walter was involved in sports.

At the Badischer Sportbund, he was ao for years on the honorary committee. He was the first to receive the honorary trophy for his services to the Heidelberg Sports Circle.

We mourn with his family, all relatives and friends. We are very affected by the loss of Karli, a personality that we have cherished and loved. I myself am grateful that I was able to accompany him for 42 years.

We, TSG Wiesloch and many friends mourn the loss of a special person and ensure that we will not forget Karl Walter. In our memory he lives on.

We express our sincere condolences to his wife Mechthild, his sons Thomas and Jens with families.

For the board
Manfred Walter, chairman
