- (5) = vehicle class and bodywork designation: more precise classification, for what you are allowed to use the vehicle and how many persons you are allowed to transport.
- R = color of the vehicle: here is the general color of the vehicle, for example "black". The paint code is noted with a sticker on the vehicle.
- (11) = code to R: the number describes the registered color. 9 stands for black, for example.
- P = data on vehicle performance: engine capacity in cm3 (P.1), rated power in kw / rated speed at min-1 (P.2 / P.4), fuel type or energy source (P.3)
- (10) = code to P3: the number describes the registered fuel. 0001 stands for example for petrol, 0002 for diesel.
- K = number of the EC type approval or ABE: this proves the permission that the car type may be built in series. Your vehicle is therefore classified as roadworthy.
- (6) = date to K: this is the date on which the EC type-approval was granted.
- (17) = characteristic for the operating permit: the four different types give more detailed information about the type approval of your vehicle. (K) indicates, for example, that your vehicle is registered by EC type-approval and that no modifications have been made to the vehicle.
- (25) = additional remark of the approval authority: the registration authority can optionally enter further remarks here.
