Vehicle registration document: which rims fit my car??

Have you ever taken a look at the vehicle registration document?? yes, that’s the little green piece of paper that belongs to your car and that you can’t lose (and that you shouldn’t keep in your glove compartment either, by the way)!). In this document, which is officially registration certificate part 1 it contains all the important information about your vehicle. fields B to 22 contain everything from the date of first registration, make and model of your car to the maximum speed and the driving noise in db.

Of course there is also a registration certificate part 2. This is the vehicle identification number, an official document certifying the general registration of the vehicle. In contrast to the vehicle registration document, you do not need to carry this document with you. It is therefore recommended to keep it at home.

The vehicle registration document is divided into three sections. the front page (left) shows the license plate number, owner and date of the next main inspection, the other sections (middle and right) show an overview of all vehicle data. The definition of the fields can be found on the back of the page.

The vehicle registration certificate contains all relevant information about the vehicle and has been standardized throughout the EU since 2005. In the upper left part of the table you will find information about the first registration (B), HSN and TSN (2.1 and 2.2), vehicle class (J) and the VIN (E). further follow brand, type, vehicle class and trade name of the car (D to 5). In the lower part of the left column you can also find the emission class and the fuel type (gasoline, diesel, etc.).) is noted (V.9, 14 and P.3).

Opposite, in the upper right corner, you will also find the maximum speed (T); in the lines below, the vehicle length (18), width (19) and height (20) in mm, as well as the unladen mass in kg. Under items 7.1 and 7.2 can also be used to determine the max. Read the permissible axle loads. The following are the stand and driving noise in db (U.1 and U.3), the tires (15.1 and 15.2) as well as the date and number of the EC type approval or ABE (K and 6). In some cases, the registration certificate has been supplemented by notes under item 22.
