If you want the best for your teeth .

Veneers: The dental secret of many Hollywood stars

They’ll talk to you about your beautiful teeth!

Have you ever wondered why many stars have such even, beautiful and white teeth? Are they all real? And if not, how were these beautiful teeth made? Here you will find the answers:

There is a way to make irregular and dark teeth beautiful and bright without having to grind off much of them. Not only many stars and celebrities choose it. Also more and more “normal people”, who value natural and aesthetic looking teeth. We are talking about ceramic veneers.

What are veneers?

Veneer literally means “veneer”. And this is how you can see it: Veneers are wafer-thin shells made of ceramic whose surface looks deceptively similar to a natural tooth. These shells are firmly attached to the tooth in an elaborate process.

Although they are so delicate, veneers have a very long service life. The big advantage is: For veneers, teeth hardly have to be ground down or sometimes not at all. This makes the treatment largely painless.

When are veneers the best solution?

  • When teeth stand irregularly
  • For tooth gaps
  • For heavily stained teeth
  • When teeth are naturally deformed
  • For severely worn or broken teeth
  • If teeth are so strongly filled that they can no longer be built up in a stable manner with composites

In all these cases, veneers can be used to create aesthetic and attractive new teeth. If you value naturally beautiful looking teeth that last long, don’t discolor and are gentle on your teeth and gums, veneers are the solution for you!

By the way.

Veneers were actually invented in Hollywood! Around 1937, the American dentist Charles Pincus used it to embellish the smile of the then still relatively unknown actress Norma Jean Baker. Later she became world famous as Marilyn Monroe. For a while she was also the lover of the American President John F. Kennedy. What you can recognize by that: We dentists can certainly contribute to the quality of life.

Why are veneers gentle on teeth?

Since they are wafer-thin, only very little of the tooth surface needs to be ground off for veneers. Sometimes nothing at all! The treatment is therefore gentle and largely painless.

Although veneers are so delicate, they last very long: in our experience 15 years and longer! Veneers are not only gentle on the teeth, but also on the gums:

They run out very thinly towards the gumline and therefore do not irritate it. There is also no transition from the veneer to the tooth, as both have the same colour.

Who were Veneers made?

After the preparation of the teeth, the jaws are formed. We will also work with you to determine the colour and brightness of your new teeth. The dental technician will make the ceramic shells, which will take one to two weeks. Since veneers require little or no grinding of the teeth, a temporary solution is often not required.

When the veneers are finished, they are firmly bonded to the tooth surface in a second appointment using a very complex technique. Then you can enjoy your new look in the mirror and soon receive your first compliments.

Does the health insurance pay for veneers?

Since veneers are mainly used for a better appearance, they are not covered by the statutory health insurance. Private health insurance companies partly pay a subsidy. You will receive a so-called treatment and cost plan from us before the start of treatment, which you submit to your private health insurance company. You will then know if and how much you will receive.

Regardless of this, those who suffer from unfavourable teeth for years often have less quality of life. With naturally beautiful teeth, this quality of life can be restored. The question is what is it worth to you. We will be happy to advise you and give you concrete prices.

The advantages of veneers at a glance

  • Veneers protect the teeth because little or nothing has to be ground off.
  • They have an absolutely natural appearance and can last very long: 15 years and longer!
  • Veneers do not discolour and do not get dark edges. The transition to the tooth is not visible.
  • They protect the gums because they run out thinly and have no protruding edges.

What to do if teeth are very badly damaged or if teeth are missing? On the next page you can read why more and more dentists are recommending crowns and bridges made of pure ceramic.
