Who we are, trockland management gmbh

Berlin, February 15th, 2019

Dear Friends and Partners,

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for our long-lasting partnership built on trust, professionalism and mutual interest.

Today, we want to inform you about a mission-critical development that has been evolving over the last few weeks in the broader context of our Checkpoint Charlie project.

We have initiated the project Checkpoint Charlie in 2015 and reached an LOI understanding with the City Government of Berlin last year for a promising realization of the project. As to be expected for a project of such importance in one of the city’s most historical and politically important sites, our project plan attracted broad media attention in Berlin, Germany and beyond. In the last few months, the attention escalated into various attacks by organized constituencies against the Berlin Senate and our company.

Given the strong support from various representatives across the political realm, the opposition has embarked on a strategy to discredit Trockland’s reputation as a suitable partner for the City of Berlin and constructed various false accusations of illegal activities in our partnership structure and financing structure. Not enough, we have very recently become aware (through the press), that the city prosecutor has initiated proceedings to further examine such accusations.

Trockland has already mandated a team of experienced lawyers and advisors to represent the firm and its managers in any proceedings to come. We have also committed our full cooperation to the authorities and are about to appoint an outside auditor to conduct an independent due diligence on the partnership and financing structures in question.

Let us be very clear: All allegations that you might have read recently in the press are not true and of no substance whatsoever. We leave it to you to judge the specific motivations behind those accusations.

Albeit and most importantly to you, your investments in any other Trockland project are not and will not be affected by these developments. However, we feel it is our obligation to make you aware of the situation we are facing.

Together with our experienced and specialist advisors we are fully committed to bringing the Checkpoint Charlie project back on a successful course. We will update you as we progress.

Please do not hesitate to contact us anytime in case you need further information or if any question arises.

THIS IS US

Trockland is a private real estate development and investment company committed to the city of Berlin. Our activities include new construction and acquisition of existing assets – from A to Z, from first planning ideas to completion – with the objective of converting or renovating residential and commercial projects and sustainably enhance value.

But we are much more; in fact, we consider ourselves less a real estate company than a people company. We go the extra mile for our business partners to create excellence with unique projects in prime locations. There is always a special touch – no matter whether it is new construction or re-energized real estate. We believe that buildings are not just brick and mortar – for us, they have individual character and soul.

Though Trockland is young, our team of nearly 50 dedicated professionals offers collective experience of over 300 years, covering all aspects of asset development and management. On the one hand, we live an agile start-up mentality for fast turn-around times and decision making processes. On the other, our operational set-up comprised of our own specialists is extensive and thorough, enabling us to drive and control the many steps in the transaction, development, and management processes.

Since our beginnings in 2009 we initiated 17 projects culminating in approx. 320,000 square meters of lettable space. This represents a total asset volume of approx. € 2 billion, including those assets currently under development. We envision a total volume of € 3 billion by 2022.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Trockland’s principles are simple: We want to be the best that we can be in everything we do and to realize our full potential. We aim to be better today than yesterday and better tomorrow than today. It is ambitious, but to achieve true excellence means to continuously strive for advancement. At the same time and deeply ingrained in our DNA, we embrace challenges and take risk without compromising the highest levels of integrity, honesty, transparency, and self-critique. The more complex a project, the more we are inclined to accept the challenge. We are not afraid to leave the “comfort zone” to inspire others. Together, we have the courage to aim for the extra ordinary. And … did we mention that we also place huge emphasis on having fun?

OUR STORY

We have come far since our humble beginnings and yet – we are still at the beginning. And we are grateful for every day of our company history. Each year has brought new and exciting projects, encounters, and challenges but obstacles and throwbacks too. These we have overcome and we have learned and grown. Trockland’s evolution has been a long journey of learning; it is a story of challenges, of refusing to give up and of adamant perseverance which goes hand in hand with the quest for positive energy and spirit.

Our DNA – our bedrock – are the values for which we stand. We accept responsibility and believe that these principles are fundamental to an authentic, transparent and respectful collaboration, both with each other and with our business partners, investors, clients, tenants, and the community at large.

Our milestones mark the most important events in the vibrant Trockland story, from 1990 until today.

OUR TEAM – OUR TREASURE

Trockland is proud of its international, passionate, creative, and dynamic team of nearly 50 professionals, all specialists in their respective areas of expertise. They have vast and in-depth real estate experience at hand; all share the common pursuit of expertise and always give their best for partners, service providers, and tenants. Our team works hand in hand; they understand that knowledge grows when shared.

One thing though we know for certain: The future will bring different aspects that are new to us. However, our experience and dedication give us the assurance that we will respond appropriately to unexpected challenges. We believe that applying the values identified, endorsed, and shared by our team will positively impact our performance and our objectives. Because people are our most valuable resource.

WHY NOT JOIN US?

Trockland offers a dynamic, yet stable and successful business environment where everybody’s commitment matters, where every team member is considered key in achieving the company’s goals. Mutual respect, flat hierarchies, a very high level of team spirit and collaboration, an energetic and fulfilling work ambience – those are only a few elements of our corporate culture.

And most important: we like to laugh and celebrate together. So, why should YOU work at Trockland? Well, we think our team members can best describe the reasons themselves.

This is what they say:
