Who we are – western riding lessons

riding holidays for children

Ch. Des Coucous 21

Our riding business, where we offer children’s riding holidays and riding courses for adults, is located in the Bernese Jura on the Moron at 1300m sea. On the top of the mountain we manage a farm with 22 hectares of land. About 20 horses / ponies and mother cows live on our farm. 20 years ago we built an indoor riding arena that protects us from wind, rain and moisture. Together with my husband and our learners / interns, we look after our guests and our animals during the riding holidays. The horses have accompanied us since childhood, they have had a major impact on all our decisions in life. My husband Daniel and I looked for a paradise for our children and the horses and found this here on the Moron. Back in 1991 in the canton of St. Gallen, I gave up my job as CO home manager and became self-employed as a riding instructor and western trainer. Daniel, my husband took over agriculture and I took over the riding business. In Ernetschwil SG on our small farm, I gave riding lessons and courses. In 1998 we moved to the Bernese Jura and today we cultivate 22 hectares of land and lots of forest. We have been offering riding holidays for children and riding courses for adults for 20 years. Since we are secluded, our company is not suitable for individual riding lessons, even more so for riding holidays away from everyday life.

A few stops from my life

  • Independence on our company as a riding teacher SV-HPR 1991
  • Club coach Western SVPS 1998
  • Completed training as SWRA B trainer in 2003

  • Participation in teaching material and conception of the higher professional examination of the OdA horse professions

My best teachers are and were my horses, with and from them I learned to be patient and to live more in the here and now. I am fascinated by the horses’ striving for harmony, their tolerance with which we approach humans is exemplary; they are impartial and absolutely clear in their body language. My love for the noble animals has made me a learning and thinking rider. "Learning to ride is active animal protection" – became my motto in life, the learning goes on and on.

Western riding lessons

Our horses thank us with good health and good athletic performance. I have been working with people and horses for over 30 years. I started out as a riding instructor and always gave Western riding lessons. My husband and I love the creativity and variety on our farm. The encounters with different people during the riding holidays are a great asset. We love tackling new challenges and we are always curious about what life has to offer. From April to November we offer many different riding courses. riding holidays for children and teenagers while the school holidays, see dates. Certification courses and riding courses for adults by arrangement. Since our farm is very remote, courses lasting several days are suitable. In the winter months we also offer floor work courses and for experienced riders rides in the beautiful winter landscape.
