If there is one thing in Barcelona that can rival the Sagrada Família, that is Park Güell. With 3.2 million visitors a year, Gaudí’s fairy-tale park is one of the most visited places in Spain, and you’ll know why when you visit it! The moment you step onto this unique environment, you will feel like you’ve been transported to another world where everything seems possible. That is what makes Gaudí so grand: in his buildings, you feel you’ve entered a dream. That’s what makes Barcelona so unique and that is why so many people that visit our city, decide they want to stay.
Do you know that there are many beaches close to Rome? And do you know that you can get the sea in half an hour by train from the Capital of Italy?
Ok, let’s start from this point to tell you something about what to do in Rome in summer. Because, yes, there are many things to do close to Rome, including go to the beach! 😉
While back in Koh Tao for one more week of island fun, I tagged along on a few dives with Lindsay and MM, who were both getting their Advanced Open Water certification. I did my own advanced certification back when I was living in Cayman in 2010, and I was so excited for them to do the same! Conditions on the island weren’t great and I was pretty disappointed with my resulting photos. Since I can’t give ya’ll any real eye candy in this post I thought instead I’d give you some useful information. I know, I know… there’s a first time for everything!
Located 70 km North of Chiang Rai, the famous Golden Triangle is a spectacular place made of forested hills, majestic rivers and hill tribe villages set at the point where the Ruak River flows into the Mekong.
The Golden Triangle owes its name to the fact that here is where three countries, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos border each other, separated only by the two rivers. Originally referring to a vast area which for decades has been the biggest production center of opium in the whole South East Asia, the Golden Triangle is nowadays one of the major touristy spots in Northern Thailand attracting visitors from all over the World. A day trip to the village of Sob Ruak is what is meant nowadays with the name of Golden Triangle, and from there you will get fabulous views over the three countries and the two rivers, especially if you decide to spend a few hours on a boat trip on the Mekong, the real highlight of a trip to the Golden Triangle. Two opium museums will give you detailed information about the history of the area and how it has been successfully transformed from a major illegal trading center to a favorite western tourism destination.
Australian companies spend in excess of $20 billion a year on corporate travel, but with an ROI of around $12.50 per dollar spent, business travel can be worthwhile. Given this investment and potential for business growth, a business travel program isn’t something that should be left up in the air.
Air travel is one of the genuinely freeing experiences we have from our 21st century connectedness. It’s with relief that I pass through customs and switch off my phone for a long flight. No one can call, no one can ask me to do anything, and no one expects anything from me. I’m free. Except that I’m confined to a space under a metre square, and any time I go anywhere I have to lumber my luggage with me.
