D8 Hotel Budapest Review: Excellent Place To Stay

D8 Hotel Budapest Review: Excellent Place To Stay

We spend three nights at D8 Hotel Budapest and highly recommend its comfortable rooms and reasonable price. Situated nearby the Danube bank, the location is central and very close to many top attractions. Exceptional value for money!

During our Central Europe trip, Budapest is one of our favorite cities for 2 weeks. There are so many options for places to stay in Budapest that choosing is quite difficult! Although most of the areas are connected with a metro station, it was still a headache to choose the best hotel to stay in Budapest that suits our budget and most importantly easy for us for getting around. read more

CUBA TRAVEL DIARIES // 48 HOURS IN HAVANA

CUBA TRAVEL DIARIES // 48 HOURS IN HAVANA

As someone who completely fell in love with Havana, I can tell you 48 hours is not long enough spent in the Cuban capital. It is however enough time to see and do lots of great things here. Read on for my recommendations for eating, drinking and sightseeing in the city.

Los Nardos // Angostoría

Two of the best restaurants in Havana located in the cotton candy coloured buildings opposite the Capitolo. The food served in both restaurants is very similar. We dined on massive portions of succulent fried pork (masitas) with rice, beans and plantains. Grilled fish, slow cooked beef (ropa vieja) and rabbit were also plates that arrived at our table. The food was cheap (about 7 CUCs per head) and absolutely delicious. If we’d had more time in Havana we’d have returned here to stuff our greedy little faces again and again. Los Nardos is located on the first floor and Angosturia on the top floor. read more

Dangerous Places To Avoid In Brazil

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro brought even more international attention to the most-visited city in South America. But the event highlighted the serious crime problems in Brazil too, with local authorities struggling to stop the wave of assaults and robberies that affected visitors. Since the games ended, many travelers have asked, ‘“Is Brazil dangerous?” and the answer is complicated. The poorest neighborhoods of Brazil’s cities, the favelas, are notorious for their lack of security, and tourists often need to exercise extreme caution when traveling in Brazil. However, while some places in Brazil are dangerous, travelers can enjoy everything the country has to offer if they inform themselves of the risks and stick to the safest places in Brazil. Eligible travelers planning to travel to the country will first be required to apply for a Brazil visa online before arrival. read more

Cruising The Gulf of Mexico

Cruising The Gulf of Mexico

It is sort of ironic that we had more anxiety taking our kids on a 5 night cruise to Mexico than spending a month backpacking through South East Asia. Actually, my imagination was going wild and the idea of my kids running loose on a 14 deck cruise ship in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico sounded truly terrifying! The reality, however, seemed to be surprisingly unlike my dreaded dream. read more
