The individual hotel statuses and their advantages
To achieve status with a hotel's rewards program, there are usually a few requirements. There is often a minimum number of nights that must be spent at hotels in the chain or a certain minimum revenue within the hotel chain that must be achieved.
Convenient: American Express Platinum Cardholders do not need to meet these requirements and automatically receive the respective status.
Radisson Rewards Gold benefits
This includes over 1 worldwide.100 Radisson Hotel Group hotels. Typically, 30 nights or 20 stays are required for Gold status. The following benefits come with status:

Important: In order to get the status, you have to register on the American Express website for the respective hotel programs.
The following hotel associations do not offer loyalty programs to earn points, and therefore American Express Platinum Cardholders cannot earn status there either. However, the Platinum Card also comes with some benefits at hotels in these associations.

Validity of the Amex Platinum Hotel Status
With the American Express Platinum, the holder automatically secures one of the higher statuses – for most, it's the second highest status. Earning status is then just a formality.
Some of the hotel statuses are only valid for a limited time if you reach them in the normal way – that means with the fulfillment of the given requirements, such as a minimum number of nights, overnight stays or accumulated points in the respective bonus program.
However, if the status is obtained together with the American Express Platinum Card, it remains valid as long as the cardholder does not cancel the credit card. Whether one qualifies with enough nights with it, is in this case no matter.
Attention! Be sure to keep these 3 points in mind:
- For almost all of the hotels, a form must be filled out in order to obtain the respective status. Just with your Platinum Card you don't get to enjoy the amenities there.
- Also, always pay attention to the conditions that are associated with the benefits. Amenities like room upgrades and late check-outs are mostly dependent on factors such as room availability and hotel occupancy.
- Hotel bookings must be made directly through the hotel. If you want to enjoy Hilton Gold status benefits, you must book through the Hilton website and not through Booking.com
Conclusion: Hotel status with the American Express Platinum Card
The hotel statuses automatically included with the Platinum Card bring some benefits that can make a stay at participating hotels more comfortable.
Especially people who travel a lot and stay in hotels can benefit from it. However, since the partners are mainly luxury hotels, it also depends on how you travel. Because budget travelers will probably rarely want to book a hotel in this category.
The hotel statuses included with the American Express Platinum Card are a nice bonus for people who want to get the Platinum Card anyway. However, the hotel status alone is not enough to justify the 660€ annual fee of the Platinum Card.
