While it might be getting pretty close to midnight, it’s never too late to get a last-minute destination picked out to help you celebrate the New Year. There are hundreds of cities across the US that have amazing parties, firework displays, and open bars that will make it even better. I’ve got a few cities picked out for you that has all these plus more. Here is my list of best places to go for New Year’s in the USA that you should consider putting on your calendar.

Best Places to Go for New Year’s in the USA

Miami, Florida

If you’re more of the partying type, Miami, Florida is a great city to party on New Year’s. We’re sure it’s warmer there than you staying at home. The Fontainebleau at Miami Beach will kick off the New Year with a concert performed by the Jonas Brothers.

It doesn’t get much cooler than that! A party at Biscayne Bay NYE is in the works for 2020. There you can enjoy a 3-course meal, with live music, alcohol, and an outstanding array of fireworks.

Nashville, Tennessee

The city of Nashville is another great city to spend the New Year in. For an awesome night that takes place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, the Big Night Nashville New Year’s Eve Gala is where you’ll want to be.

You’ll also want to get your room reservation there for the early morning. It’s an amazing hotel experience with gorgeous indoor gardens and walkways that make for a romantic walk.

Chicago, Illinois

If you’ve never been to Chicago and gone window shopping down Michigan Street, (The Magnificent Mile) it would be a great way to spend an afternoon in Chicago on New Year’s Eve. Many people living in the city enjoy heading to Navy Pier to watch the mesmerizing fireworks, with Lake Michigan in the background.

Back this year is Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast live from New Orleans, including a concert beginning at 9 p.m. on the Riverfront. This year’s performers include Usher and Sheryl Crow. The free show will be broadcast on ABC, but if you’d like to be a part of the crowd, make sure you get down there early. Celebrations conclude with fireworks at midnight.

Los Angeles, California

Ring in 2020 with thousands of Angelenos at the closest event L.A. has to a communal countdown. NYELA in Grand Park is a free family-friendly party for every one in town. Show up early for DJ sets, photogenic installations and food trucks, and stick around for a midnight countdown projected onto City Hall.

New York City is a classic destination for New Year’s Eve. If your New Year’s Eve in New York City fantasy involves watching the ball drop in Times Square, you are not alone—approximately a million revelers fill Times Square each year to watch the ball drop at midnight. Be prepared for the weather and make sure you get there EARLY if you want to get anywhere near where the ball drops. Rumor has is the folks who get anywhere near the action have to wear adult diapers so they don’t have to lose their place to go find a bathroom.
