Black Friday tips and tricks

1. Make a list but a well thought of list

Take your time to make a list of things that you actually NEED and will get a lot of use out of. You can start it months ahead and refine it as time goes by. This will ensure that you are only paying for the things that are worth your money. Especially if you are looking for high quality furniture.

There are many other benefits to the environment and to your personal finances, but that is my main one.

2. Do a lot of research a lot of time

Once you know what items you want, do your research on the best places to buy those items. Knowing their prices will give you an idea of who might have the best prices that day.

Many of the websites also start advertising what kind of discounts they will be offering. This way you know where to go right away. Ensuring that most of the items you want will still be available.

3. Have a plan

Things can sell out quickly on Black Friday. That’s why it is important to know where the items you want are and to prioritize them if they are in different places.

That’s where online shopping makes things a lot easier. Because you can just hop from one online store to the other and have many different tabs open at the same time. So take your time to plan the itinerary ahead of time to ensure that you get most of what you are looking for.

4. Have a budget

One of the biggest mistakes that people do for Black Friday is to just buy like crazy thinking that just because things are discounted they are saving. That’s how people end up in debt and with a ton of items that they don’t really need.

So set yourself a limit and follow it. It is hard but you need to stick to it!

5. Don’t wander around

If you are at a local store, chances are that you already know where things are. So go in, get what you were looking for, and get out. Don’t take detours or spend time looking at other isles. That’s how you end up with a full cart.

The same with online stores, avoid going on pages that have nothing to do with the items you have already planned to buy.

I know these all sound like they will take the fun out of shopping, but if you are looking to do some really saving this is the way to do it.

Lastly, just remember that even if you have a plan and a shopping list that will allow you to save some money, Black Friday 2020 UK can be a stressful time so try not to put too much heart into it if the items you were waiting for get sold out before you get to them.
