Bahamas’ Atlantis Unveils Luxury Marine Life Glamping Adventure, How Much It Will Cost
Kayak with dolphins. Snorkel at twilight. Visit with sea turtles and sea lions. Camp under the stars on one of the most luxurious beaches in the world.
That is just part of the experience being offered for guests of Atlantis Paradise Island, who can now take part in an overnight adventure on the beach underneath the Bahamas sky.
But you need to be prepared to pay. The Marine Life Camping Adventures are available through August 27 at a cost of $4,000 per night for a four-person tent or $6,000 for a six-person tent. And that price is on top of the required reservation at Atlantis Paradise Island for the rest of your trip.
The dusk-to-dawn adventure takes place on the west side of the beach at Dolphin Cay on Atlantis Paradise Island. It is open to anyone age 6 or older, provided at least one member in the tent party is 18 or older.
What Does The Atlantis Beach Camping Experience Include?
The list is pretty impressive:
- Kayak with dolphins: You’ll paddle among the bottlenose dolphins for an up-close look at them — or, more accurately, for them to get an up-close look at you.
- Behind the scenes tour of the Royal Towers Fish Hospital, Rehab Center, and Fish Kitchen, where you’ll meet a baby sea turtle as well as rescued dolphins and sea lions.
- Twilight snorkel: You’ll dive among the ruins at a time when most guests don’t get to experience the adventure.
- Rise and shine at Dolphin Cay: After a night in your beach tent, you’ll awake to the sounds of dolphins and the waters lapping at the shore.
Glamping, Atlantis-Style
Although Atlantis calls the experience camping, this isn’t anything close to the normal use of that term.
The luxury canvas beachside, all-weather tents are climate controlled and decorated in style. They feature Adirondack chairs, plush couches, and cushioned cots adorned with resort bedding.
The tents include a coffee pot, tea kettle, and mini refrigerator stocked with water and a snack basket. Guests can also add beer, wine, and light bites to their experience.
Meals are not provided as the dusk-to-dawn adventure does not begin until 7 p.m.
The tents have adjacent bathrooms and showers, and the common area outside is perfect for games, movies, and campfires.
An Eco-Friendly Experience
Guests can feel good about a portion of their fees going to support the Atlantis Blue Project Foundation, which works to save sea species and their habitats.
Packing List And Safety
Guests should know how to swim and bring a bathing suit for the overnight adventure, although wetsuits for snorkeling will be provided for those that want one.
On-site counselors and full-time security will be at the location during campers’ stays.
