Their team search the web to find error fares and great value deals for worldwide holiday destinations. Their website caters to UK holiday-seekers only so all trips are relevant, however they do have websites for other countries.
- Use the ‘deals’ filter to narrow your search to specific months, destinations, departure airports or ‘type of deal’. Remember, the broader your search, the more deals will be available
- Check the website often. We often browse new deals a couple of times a week when looking for our next holiday
- Sign up to their ‘WhatsApp’ group for regular updates or follow the Holiday Pirates social media pages
- Be quick to book! The deals are often only available for a limited time so do your research and book as soon as you can
- You don’t have to go with the full package. Have you found a good deal on flights but don’t like the suggested hotel? Is the departure airport in the deal too far away? You can substitute flights or hotels for the deals and customise to your tastes

Websites such as Groupon and Wowcher offer some great package holiday deals for flexible travellers. They often fly from specific UK airports on specific dates and are for relatively last minute bookings. These holidays are so cheap as they rely on bulk sales to cover the costs and are heavily discounted.
Remember to always check the reviews for a hotel before you visit, sometimes poor quality hotels can pop-up on these sites.
Secret Escapes – secretescapes.com
Secret Escapes is another travel booking website. Slightly different to Groupon and Wowcher, its primary focus is luxury travel for holiday and hotel only deals. This can mean holidays are more expensive, but you still save a lot compared to the usual luxury holiday package prices from travel agents.
What we love most about the site is the professional imagery and enticing destination descriptions. Sign up to their newsletter for regular updates on new deals they post.
Similar to the websites above but targeting 4 and 5 star package holidays, Secret Escapes aims to sell holidays in bulk so you can benefit from a discount. If you live near major London airports or Manchester, this site can be ideal for finding a cheap holiday and it doesn’t necessarily have to be last minute. They also have a deposit feature where you can pay a small down-payment and then pay the rest of the holiday cost nearer to your departure date.
HotUKDeals – hotukdeals.com
The UK’s biggest deals finding community isn’t just about finding cheap consumer products, it also covers tickets, days out and holidays! Year round there’s always some great user submitted holiday, flight and hotel deals and it’s often the fastest way of finding a new offer.
If you haven’t used the site before, it works on a rating system. Community users post deals they find on other websites/in-store and other members of the vote if something is ‘hot’ or ‘cold’. The hottest temperature listings are often the best deals and ones to watch out for.
To use the site, simply search for generic ‘flights’, ‘hotels’, etc, or a particular destination. Check back regularly as new offers are posted daily.
