Windsurfing, diving and hiking – you can do it all at Lake Titisee! It is located in the southern Black Forest and is one of the most popular excursion destinations. Quite rightly: the lake offers activities for all tastes. You can go hiking, pedal boating, swing on the surfboard or go to the lido.
Just hang out? Go also! Visit the high ropes course! It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Titisee lake.

On to the Schluchsee

Schluchsee is the best example that you don't have to travel halfway around the world for outdoor activities. You can swim in the crystal clear lake and then let the sun shine on your belly. Are you bored? Then grab a canoe or paddleboard and take a spin around the lake. Hike along its banks or explore by bike. Adventure at Schluchsee, check!

Rather chilly than wild: the Wildsee (Ruhestein)

For those who prefer a more chill mode, the Wildsee is recommended. It is part of the Black Forest National Park and is located north of the Ruhestein. The lake is about 2.4 hectares in size – small but nice! It is off the beaten track and not very crowded. Just sit down, relax and enjoy the magnificent nature!

Hiking in the Black Forest – now it's getting spectacular

Of course we have not forgotten the hiking fans among you. On a trip to the Black Forest you can go almost everywhere on a great hike. Enjoy nature with all its shapes and colors. Just take a break from everyday life and clear your head. But please do not forget to pack suitable outdoor shoes. Well, let's go for a hike!

You love chaos? On to the wilderness trail in the national park

Imagine a forest of firs, beeches and spruces. You have? And now you add to the whole a chaos of fallen trees and erected root plates. Ready? Great, now you have a rough idea of the National Park Black Forest.

In 1999 a hurricane swept over the forest area and left corresponding traces. The thing has also something good: From this day the area was left to itself. Even the fallen trees are still there. The forest is allowed to develop freely – without human intervention. Perfect, we think! And perfect for your tour!

You climb over tree trunks and other obstacles – sometimes with and sometimes without a ladder. The information signs do not exaggerate: a certain physical fitness is a basic requirement. In the wilderness trail you experience nature as it really is. Pure wilderness, check! Pure adventure, check!

High up on the summit tour in Simonswald

You feel like an alpine feeling, paired with an extra portion of challenge? Up to the limits and maybe a little bit beyond? Then this summit tour is just right for you.

The tour starts in Simonswald at the Sagplatz. First softly and gently – so to start. Behind the church you can even enjoy hiking a few meters downhill. The challenging part begins at the mill: It goes steeply uphill with you! The narrow path leads in zigzag to the Hollkopffelsen. Now you are high above the Simonswalder valley. Time for a breather!

It goes on towards Schultiskopf – higher and higher. Rocks and roots meet you and demand all your attention. Do not give up, it is worth it!

You arrive at the Schultiskopf. The view is magnificent! Two kilometers further you reach the highest point – the Obereck. You have left the alpine part of the hike behind you. After a gentle descent to the Kostgefall, it is once again steeply uphill – from the Zweitalersteig to the Hornleberg. You will be there soon! There is already the chapel!

Phew, done! Enjoy the magnificent view and let your soul dangle. And when you have gathered enough impressions, follow the Zweitalersteig back to the valley. Well, curious now? Then on to the summit tour!

Simply exhilarating – the waterfalls in the Black Forest

A visit to the Black Forest without waterfalls? That would be like a movie night without snacks. Without waterfalls, without us! Here are two especially beautiful ones.

Absolute must-see: the Allerheiligen waterfalls

It is the Lierbach, which plunges over seven cascades almost 90 meters into the depth and creates a thunderous and roaring waterfall: the Allerheiligen waterfalls! They belong to the most beautiful waterfalls of the Black Forest.

You can see the natural spectacle from above as well as from below. Above the waterfalls you will meet the ruins of the Allerheiligen monastery – with this excursion tip you will explore two spectacular sights at the same time!

The legendary path leads from the lower parking lot over wooden bridges and 250 steps to the monastery – or vice versa. Via the famous Engelskanzel – from where you have a magnificent view – you can return to the starting point. Sightseeing and daily workout, check!

A wonder of nature – the Todtnau waterfalls

In the middle of the mountains of Todtnau, one of the highest natural waterfalls plunges 100 meters into the depths! The Todtnau waterfall has been a nature reserve since 1978 and is one of the ten most beautiful natural monuments in Germany.

Winding mountain paths lead you over bridges, footbridges and stairs to the thunderous event. On your way you will be joined by two more mountain streams, which will eventually tumble down into the valley with a loud roar and over huge granite rocks. Let the gentle gout blow around your nose and enjoy the magnificent view!
