This time I wanted to go by car from Chiang Mai via Chiang Rai, to the Golden Triangle, then on to Mae Sai and back to Chiang Mai again. The complete round trip was approx. 650 kilometers (map*) I wanted to cover in one day.

Havana, a city, a legend. The charm of the past can still be discovered, even if it is crumbling, just like the facades.
Why Havana only made it for me on the second try? Havana is different. Loud, chaotic, sometimes dirty and pushy. Attributes shared by many large cities. Right after our arrival, still struggling with jetlag and everyday stress, we were simply overwhelmed by Havana. We first had to get used to Cuba.

Are you more the party type and want to see all the hotspots and clubs that are in town?? Or do you prefer to spend your day in different museums or cultural institutions??
Our start in Australia's southernmost state was not a good one – even though the beautiful green island of Tasmania already wowed us from the plane. One disappointment after the next. But that changed quickly.
On the day of our departure, we took a leisurely stroll through the Victoria Market in Melbourne and bought 10 passion fruit for only 3 AUS dollars. Finally again Maracujas! What a bargain! We wanted to eat them the next morning in Hobart, Tasmania's capital city.
The question of questions after every vacation: "How was it??" And directly after: "What did you like best?" As simple as these questions sound, they are difficult to answer. Every vacation consists of so many individual impressions, highlights and just also the one or other mishap. So I count among the absolute highlights of our Canada trip the evenings in front of our camper at the campfire, with a glass of wine in hand, in the middle of nature. Or the first encounter with a bear. Or the most delicious steak cooked over a fire I've ever eaten – straight from the ranch where we were staying. Or or or… Such moments are hard to recount. You must have experienced. What you can share though are the places that touched you the most. So here they are: My 10 Western Canada Highlights.
