You can switch between Basic, Balanced, and Strict modes to prevent trackers from tracking your online activities to serve your ads. With Basic being the lowest setting and Strict being the highest setting, Edge gives you the freedom to block trackers and ads.

8. Save resources with sleep markers
When tabs are left idle, they consume resources even when they are not active. Edge browser brings a feature called Sleeping Tabs to curb this problem. With Sleeping Tabs enabled, Edge puts tabs to sleep after a certain time when they are inactive. As a result, the tab ends up using fewer resources.
You can also customize the period of inactivity in the settings, and also add exceptions to certain websites. You can customize Sleeping Tabs settings by heading to Context menu (three horizontal dots) > Settings > System and performance > Optimize performance.
