Packing your bags via app: with these 6 packing list apps, you’ll have everything with you

Vacation, that means time to relax! It's just a shame that before you can relax, there's always the stress of getting there – along with the nagging worry: "Did I forget something important?"?" To take away this fear and give you a calm start into your vacations, there are various apps for packing suitcases. Find out which packing list apps we've got in the bag here.

First of all: Each of the following packing apps is free of charge – at least in the basic version. All six apps offer in-app purchases or premium variants to unlock advanced features.

1. PackPoint

PackPoint first asks you for destination, time period (month and length of stay) and purpose (business or pleasure)?) of your trip. Afterwards, additional activities can be selected: Going on a ski vacation? With child and cone to the camping? Or go to the beach? Based on your information, the application then creates a very precise packing list, which can be supplemented individually. Plus, the app provides information on the expected weather and temperature on site, so you won't be out in the rain – at least not without an umbrella.

2. Packtor – packing list generator

With Packtor, on the other hand, you enter your own travel duration, climate, accommodation (hotel, vacation home, . ) and type of travel (city trip, backpacking, business trip, etc.), . ) to. The generator then compiles a checklist for you, which you can add to and edit individually. Handy: Lists you've already created can be easily duplicated and used as templates for your next trip. The catch: the free basic version only offers space for three lists – after that, you have to upgrade with in-app purchases.

3. Packr

The highlight of Packr: The packing list app learns. If some items are taken on every trip, they promptly end up on every checklist – at least that's the thought of the manufacturers. In practice, this apparently works sometimes more, sometimes less well. However, a clear plus is the very clear user interface of the application and in the premium version, lists can be shared with other travelers here as well.

4. Pack The Bag

The picture book example of the packing list app for iPhone is Pack The Bag. The iOS application offers a whole 27 pack categories, such as air travel or vacation with child, from which important items can be "wiped" onto the personal list. The app then reminds you to pack your suitcase via a push message just in time before you leave on your trip. Hastily stuffing things into your bag at the last second is now a thing of the past. Also practical is the possibility to filter already packed and missing items by color. This way you can see at a glance how much still needs to go into your suitcase.

5. Packing Checklist

Strictly speaking, this application is not a pure travel packing list app, because in addition to the "To Pack" checklist section, it also offers the "To Do" section, in which everything that still needs to be done before the vacation can be noted down. Unlike the other apps, there are no pre-designed lists for specific destinations or types of travel. Instead, users click through categories such as necessities, clothing, electronics, beach, health or hygiene items and select the items relevant to them for their personal list. These can then be saved for future trips.

6. Packing list for travel – PackKing

This suitcase packing app for Android scores again with precise packing suggestions based on information about destination, duration, planned activities, used means of transport and washing possibilities for the packed clothes. It also takes into account the expected weather. However, the number of packing lists is again limited and can only be expanded through in-app purchases.
