Glamping in Andalusia

The south of Spain is just made to experience adventures there. With its coasts, which lie on two seas, there can be nothing more beautiful for vacationers than to spend a night on the beach. However, normal camping is not necessarily suitable for everyone or wanted, because one expects from an Andalusia vacation simply a bit more luxury. That's where the so-called "glamping" comes into play. In this way you have at the same time the feeling of an adventure, like camping, but at the same time you do not have to do without certain things. Glamping is of course also possible in Andalusia. We have picked out the most beautiful places.

What is glamping?

The expression comes from the English and combines the words "glamour" and "camping". Under it one can understand thus a luxury variant of the normal camping. Plus, it's also a great alternative to the standard hotel vacation. Because although you can get a similar luxury as in a hotel room or a vacation apartment (to Andalusia vacation rentals), the accommodation itself is located in the countryside and that is probably the appeal of glamping.

Corresponding offers can be found mostly also on campsites, but a bit more distant from the normal pitches. In the accommodation you will find in principle everything you need: a comfortable and made bed, electricity, running water and even real furniture.

The accommodations themselves can vary. It can be stable safari tents, tree houses or even fully equipped caravans. In contrast to the Andalusia hotels, you have the possibility to be self-sufficient and remain independent and flexible. In addition, it is usually still very affordable.

Glamping in Andalusia in general

Andalusia is a true paradise for glampers. Regardless of whether you choose to pitch your tent right by the sea or inland. Many places are now even open all year round, so that you can easily start your vacation outside the season. This has at the same time the advantage that then the overnight stays can turn out again clearly more favorably.

Also when it comes to weather and climate conditions, the low season is recommended. Especially in October the best conditions prevail here. At this time there are usually fewer tourists, so you can relax better. Climatically, however, May is still very pleasant, so that you could even sleep outside.

However, you should be prepared for all eventualities, because even if it is mild and warm during the day, the temperatures can drop significantly at night. A good sleeping bag and warm functional clothing are therefore a must in any case, even if the cabin or luxury tent has appropriate bedding. If it should be warmer, one can still leave the sleeping bag and the clothing away.

The most beautiful places for glamping

Andalusia has countless beautiful places to offer (Cities in Andalusia). Especially sea vacationers will get their money's worth here, because the region has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Glamping on the beach

In addition, there are also a few beautiful landscapes inland, where even glamping is possible:

  • Spending the night in a real Airstream camper: Fully retro, but still luxurious – if you want to spend the night in an iconic Airstream camper, you are in the right place in the mountains of "Sierra de las Nieves". The silver retro camper offers the equipment of a 5 star luxury hotel and is located in the middle of nature. However, one is not completely cut off. In about 45 minutes you can reach the cities of Marbella or Malaga comfortably by car.
  • Staying in a luxury tent: Hidden Valley offers magical nights in a round tent surrounded by 25 hectares of olive grove. The tents are fully equipped with a huge French bed, wooden furniture and a private toilet. In addition, there is a communal kitchen, so that self-catering guests do not have to do without any luxury. As an excursion destination is recommended Antequera, which is located a few kilometers to the northeast.
  • Cottage feeling directly at the beach: Here you really don't have to do without anything and you even have the sea right in front of your nose with a mobile home at the beach El Palmar. The small cabins are fully equipped mini houses with bedrooms, a kitchen and a garden including a barbecue area.

Camping in the great outdoors

Unfortunately, wild camping is forbidden in Spain. By the way, this is also true for most of the rest of Europe. Among other things, this is due to the fact that camping outside of appropriate sites could possibly violate property rights or even nature conservation. If you are caught you have to expect fines, which can be in the mid three-digit euro range.

But if you still want to pitch your tent outside a campground, you should ask beforehand. At the sea, however, this could be a bit more difficult. However, if you get a permit and are allowed to camp wildly, you should follow some rules.

In any case, you should always behave in an exemplary manner. This means that you don't leave any trash behind and you don't make any open fire either. Especially in the dry summer months an open fire can be very dangerous for nature. Especially if you illegally pitch your tent in one of the nature parks or reserves.
