Not so easy to find the best business hotels in London. We have nevertheless tried. Don't nail us down on this, but these are the editors' favorite London business hotels…

The Lanesborough

One of London's most prestigious British hotels is The Lanesborough in Knightsbridge, overlooking Hyde Park. The public rooms are furnished with a splendor as if you were in the noble wing of Buckingham Palace. The procedures and atmosphere are like in a private mansion, the service outstanding: No guest stands at the reception, all formalities are settled in semicircular armchair areas, waiting times or inconveniences are unknown here.

Each room, not only the suites, have a butler who unpacks suitcases and irons travel clothes on request. Guests can devote themselves entirely to business: That alone makes The Lanesborough, part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, one of the best business hotels in London.

London Marriott Hotel County Hall

What a location! County Hall rises magnificently on the southern bank of the Thames – opposite Big Ben, Westminster Palace and Westminster Abbey. Inside, on the other hand, interior-loving guests will enjoy a skillful melange of time-honored stucco ceilings and wood-paneled walls, cool midcentury furniture, and straightforward design elements. From the 206 chic guest rooms you can enjoy a magnificent panorama. This can also be enjoyed from the conference rooms of this fine hotel. This may well be to your advantage if you have an important meeting coming up.

From a culinary point of view, Gillray's Steakhouse & Bar invites you to a relaxed, but still "sophisticated" dinner. Shangri-La at The Shard

When it comes to the best business hotels in London, this hotel can't be missed: The Shangri-La in the impressive skyscraper The Shard, currently the tallest building in Europe. The five-star hotel stretches across floors 34 to 52. Due to its fabulous location, guests enjoy breathtaking views of the capital and surrounding countryside from every room. Rooms are stocked each evening with lovely touches such as sweet treats, fresh fruit and poetry tomes, providing a sense of family homey feel for Business Travellers who travel a lot. With a health center complete with spa, gym, resistance pool and sauna, and ideally located near London's most exclusive stores, leisure travelers are also only too happy to book into the prestigious property.

ME Hotel London by MeliA

A hotel that beautifully reflects the diversity of London. We are talking about ME Hotel London by MeliA. The five-star hotel was designed by the famous architectural firm "Foster + Partners" in all interior and exterior areas and is located in the heart of the West End. Just entering the lobby is like visiting a museum. The 30-meter-high pyramid-shaped atrium creates a real wow effect.

Some of the 157 rooms, including 16 suites, have private terraces and – it's hardly surprising – extremely cool furnishings. The same of course applies to the meeting and conference rooms. After work is done, the center of attraction is the hotel's spectacular rooftop terrace with rooftop bar. It's hardly surprising that locals and outside guests are only too happy to have their Big City Sundowner here, too.

InterContinental Park Lane

The InterContinental Park Lane is ideally located between the districts of Mayfair and Knightsbridge. While the lobby is bustling, the rooms are modern and elegant oases of calm, equipped with a large LCD TV and a Bose sound system. Especially delightful for business travelers: The seventh-floor Club InterContinental.

Here the guest with access enjoys absolute privacy and can start day with breakfast and the fabulous panoramic view over London including Hyde Park. Of course, the five-star property also has a well-equipped spa and a modern gym. The only downer: the hotel does not have a pool. But it has congress and meeting facilities that are second to none in London. The five-star property offers a whopping three ballrooms and many other meeting and conference rooms, plus a business center. And: Perhaps the best Italian restaurant in the city, Theo Randall's, is also located at the InterContinental Park Lane.

Sanderson Hotel

The Sanderson Hotel is trendy, original and extravagant. The design was by none other than Philippe Starck. The rooms are dominated by white tones. Delicate curtains divide the rooms into different areas. Some of the luxurious bathrooms have separate walk-in showers and freestanding bathtubs. Even apart from the rooms, there are many highlights at the hotel, such as an all-white, peaceful spa with 14 treatment rooms and meditation beds.

A modern gym has cardio equipment, each with its own TV, and a billiards room features stained glass from the 1950s. The Suka restaurant serves Malaysian fare and a Mad Hatter-themed afternoon tea is served in the impressive courtyard. Whoever enters the Sanderson should take the opportunity to take a look at the Purple Bar, which literally looks fantastic with its purple Venetian mirrors, and the impressively decorated billiard room with its richly decorated stained glass window. Both rooms are located directly next to the reception and are a good and at the same time extraordinary meeting possibility of a different kind.

COMO The Halkin

With its 41 rooms and suites, COMO The Halkin is perhaps one of the smallest, but certainly one of the best business hotels in London. The central location – in a small side street of the Belgravia district with a charming neighborhood – is unbeatable.

Hyde Park is just around the corner, as are the famous shopping streets of Bond Street and Sloane Street. The interior is cool and individual at the same time, the atmosphere private and unagitated – COMO The Halkin skilfully bridges the gap between boutique and business hotels. By the way: COMO The Halkin has a first-class restaurant. It is called "Ametsa with Arzak Instruction", has a Michelin star and is one of the best gourmet addresses in London.

Hyatt Regency

A luxury hotel that is fully geared to business: Hyatt Regency The Churchill is located to the right of Portman Square in London's posh West End. The 434 rooms are modern and straightforwardly furnished. Some may find the interior too plain. Business people, on the other hand, are likely to appreciate its understated elegance. The Churchill Bar and Terrace is particularly stylish and traditional, where you can also retreat for business meetings.

For those who prefer something a bit more private, check into the VIP floor and take advantage of the Regency Club: Exclusive amenities include a private concierge, use of the conference room, and continental breakfast, evening cocktails and canapes at the Regency Club. Or dine at the award-winning Locanda Locatelli, which has been awarded a Michelin star. Local British creations are again served at The Montague. Another highlight at Hyatt Regency The Churchill: The hotel has a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center and a floodlit tennis court in Portman Square.

The Langham Hotel

The Langham was used as a film set in the James Bond classic "Golden Eye" and Michael Winterbottom's film "Wonderland". Many decades earlier in turn, namely at the end of the 19th century. In the late nineteenth century, the city's most modern hotel at the time hosted famous literary figures such as Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde, as well as aristocrats and politicians from around the world. In short: The Langham Hotel is a legend.

The rooms and suites are a mix of Victorian and modern design. The hotel's direct location on Regent Street also makes it attractive for business travelers. But the distinctive The Langham Lounge, which is members-only or available for an additional fee, could also be a reason why businesspeople love checking in here. The premises captivate with an unbeatably elegant interior. Those who receive business partners here will impress their counterparts. Or you can enjoy a cup of tea in the so-called "Palm Court" and discuss important matters while doing so. Fun Fact: This is where the tradition of afternoon tea was born.

The Soho Hotel

A different kind of business hotel: The Soho Hotel, which – as the name suggests – is located in London's Soho district in the West End, is a member of Design Hotels. In other words, interiors and style are the main focus here. The furnishings are very individual and well thought-out – whether in the 90 rooms and suites, in the three meeting rooms or in the public areas.

Gorgeous colors, fine materials and coordinated, expressive patterns dominate the interior. Especially design-loving business travelers will get their money's worth here. But the location, just a ten-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Square, is also excellent. Late check-in and free Wi-Fi, as well as amenities like allergen-free rooms and a currency exchange, plus limousine service, a portie, gym with personal trainer, and 24-hour room service, make the Soho Hotel one of the best business hotels in town.

Claridge's

It's the grande dame of luxury hotels in the Mayfair district and one of the best business hotels in London for that reason alone. We're talking about Claridge's: Checking in here is a testament to good taste. The British often refer to Claridge's as an "extension of Buckingham Palace.". Not only because of the magnificent interior, but also because in the past, real politics took place here: Negotiations were held, statesmen and crowned heads of state stayed here. Even today, the hotel's distinguished premises are wonderfully suited for hard-hitting business meetings.

The five-star hotel easily provides the right premises for any occasion. Old-established but not necessarily dusty. Claridge's proves this most beautifully: the aubergine-colored hotel bar "The Fumoir" entices with a wicked Art Deco ambience and leaves any sense of time behind at the front door. The Landmark

In the heart of aristocratic Marylebone is the 300-room The Landmark, part of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World hotel association. Upon entering the five-star hotel, guests are first welcomed into the centrally located, palm-fringed atrium. The rooms and suites are furnished in shades of cream and white and are particularly spacious, which is why business travelers also appreciate the hotel.

The hotel also features a 15-meter chlorine-free swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness room, and three elegant bars and restaurants with long opening hours – in case meetings last longer than usual. The only somewhat incomprehensible drawback: common things like using the poll, gym, and Wi-Fi add more entries to your final bill.

Rocco Forte Brown's Hotel

Would you have known? Brown's Hotel has hosted many illustrious guests since it opened as the city's first hotel in 1837. Located in the prestigious Mayfair, the five-star hotel is. Brown's Hotel is part of the luxurious Rocco Forte Collection and also a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Yet the property consists of eleven historic Georgian townhouses. None of the 117 rooms is identical.

Every single room is lovingly decorated and richly detailed. Hotel highlights include high-end food and drink venues like HIX at the Albemarle, the English Tea Room and the Donovan Bar. With a spa and gym, Brown's offers all the special features that leisure and business travelers alike appreciate.
