The second illegal car race happened on sunday evening in front of the eyes of another civil patrol from gieben. The T-ROC had "illegally and in unclear traffic conditions" hit the GTI there üthe car overtook him, whereupon the latter also accelerated before both of them turned off at the yellow light in the direction of schiffenberger tal. There, the drivers would have "really stepped on it" given that the civil patrol had problems to catch up despite 100 km/h on their own speedometer. At the railroad crossing, the cars finally slowed down and drove onto heegstrauchweg, where the police stopped them in the parking lot of a restaurant. The drivers were 21 and 22 years old. They too are now awaiting criminal proceedings. It was only at the beginning of July that the Giessen police last caught a speeding driver after he had engaged in a wild chase with the officers.
