How to choose the right product from the above children’s guitar test or comparison

1. Buying advice: You can recognize the best children’s guitar by the size of your child

Learning a musical instrument does not always sound good, especially at the beginning. If children want to play music in a tenement house, the music also affects their neighbors.

In its article 10/2017, the Stiftung Warentest summarized what children are allowed to do in a rental house and what not. They also took a closer look at the house music.

It was found here that children can play an instrument. The duration of the practice depends on the instrument. Quieter instruments (e.g. children’s guitars) allowed to about an hour and a half to two hours a day.

So it can be said, that a children’s guitar 1.2 is suitable for children from an approximate size of 1.20 and 1.40 meters (approx. 7-9 years). A children’s guitar with a 3/4 size, on the other hand, is suitable from a size of approx. 1.30 and 1.50 meters (approx. 10-13 years).

Children grow at different speeds. Before you buy the wrong children’s guitars, you should remember that children with 10 years do not necessarily have to be 1.30 meters tall. We therefore advise you, when choosing the children’s guitar not according to the age information, but according to the suitable child size to decide.

2. Toy guitars are suitable for children up to three years old; Children from the age of four take a children’s guitar

Children are always enthusiastic when it comes to trying something new. Your natural ability to acquire knowledge faster than adults also helps you, to learn to play the guitar as a toddler. Still, they should do not start playing a real children’s guitar before the age of four.

2.1. Children’s guitars for 3 year olds are toy guitars

With toy guitars it is possible for you to access different guitar categories. Except for acoustic guitars some manufacturers also offer toy guitars in the form of electric guitars or with cutaway (hollowing out the guitar body on the neck).

A toy guitar does not have to be a concert guitar. Here you can choose between different types of guitars.

The toy guitars are available with four or six strings. In comparison with real children’s guitars, this type of guitar cannot step up. Because it is neither tuning the strings nor actually playing the guitar.

In addition to a tuner, a good children’s guitar set should also have a guitar book with a learning CD.

Guitars for children are available as a single guitar with accessories or as a children’s guitar set. Which accessories are included depends on the manufacturer.
