So you have enough time to explore Scotland with all its attractions that delight both old and young. 1 child up to 12 years free of charge in parents room!!

Day 1: Edinburgh
After arriving at the airport, take the rental car and drive to Edinburgh. You have time to explore Edinburgh’s many attractions. Experience the capital of Scotland with its fascinating sights, such as the old town from the 16th century. Enjoy a stroll along the beautiful Royal Mile, which stretches between Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the famous St. Giles Cathedral, the City Chambers and the legendary John Knox House. The Royal Mile is known for its tall, narrow buildings. Also recommended are the Museum of Childhood, centrally located in the Royal Mile, with its unique collection of toys and the huge doll exhibition, as well as the Edinburgh Zoo, the largest of its kind in Scotland with many exotic animals. Edinburgh in particular has a lot to offer for families with children. Overnight in the Edinburgh area.

Day 2: Edinburgh – Royal Deeside
You are leaving Edinburgh for Perth today. On the way you will pass Glamis Castle, which you should visit. Via Blairgowrie and Braemar we continue over Scotland’s highest pass. You will reach the so-called Royal Deeside, where you will spend the night twice. Overnight in the Royal Deeside area.

Day 3: Royal Deeside
In the Royal Deeside region you can go on various excursions or visits today. To name a few examples: the Archaeolink Prehistory Park in Insch or The Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen or you go on a dolphin and whale watching trip with Puffin Cruises. Overnight like the day before.

Day 4: Royal Deeside – Inverness
After breakfast, make your way to Inverness via the Grampians and Grantown-on-Spey. There are many whiskey distilleries in the area, at least one of which you should have visited. At Carrbridge you could then visit the Landmark Forest Adventure Park. 2 nights in the Inverness area.

Day 5: Inverness
Today, of course, a visit to Loch Ness should be on the schedule. There are many boat trips on the lake to look for "Nessi". The nearby Urquhart Castle is also worth a visit. Overnight like the day before.

Day 6: Inverness – Trossachs / Loch Lomond
After breakfast, it’s time to leave the Highlands and explore the south. You drive via Pitlochry and Loch Tay to Callander, where you should definitely visit the Scottish Wool Center in Aberfoyle. Here you can feed lambs and learn how to weave wool. 2 nights in the Trossachs / Loch Lomond area.

Day 7: Trossachs / Loch Lomond
Today you have enough time to explore the Trossachs region. The Blair Drummond Safari Park opened in 1970 and offers various attractions for young and old. Either drive through the reserves or march to one of the many animal farms. A visit to the adventure areas is also a must. A visit to the Stirling Castle is also recommended. With its special location directly on the Scottish highlands, it became known primarily as the residence of the monarchs. Even the young King James VI of Scotland, later King of England, fell under the charm of this magnificent landscape. Overnight like the day before.

Day 8: Trossachs – Edinburgh
Return to Edinburgh and drop off your rental car. Individual journey home and end of self-drive tour. On request, we would be happy to book additional overnight stays in advance, connecting programs or flights. We would be happy to advise you on your family holiday in Scotland!
