The Hessisches Bergland with its numerous lakes invites you to a relaxing bathing holiday. The Silbersee near Frielendorf in the Schwalm-Eder district is sure to please you and your children particularly well. The small lake lies in the middle of a forested hilly landscape and has almost clear water with a green bank – the ideal place for sunbathing! If you don’t want to leave here, you can rent a holiday home or apartment in the adjacent holiday park. Numerous sports and leisure facilities, adventure playgrounds, an all-weather toboggan run and much more ensure that all family members get their money’s worth even on a short vacation!

Probably the greatest bathing experience awaits you on your family vacation in Hesse in the Aquapark Baunatal. You and the children can look forward to a bathing paradise with indoor and outdoor pools and a slide! While you can make the adventure pool or toddler area unsafe together with the young holidaymakers, an outdoor pool with several underwater massage jets and a water mushroom awaits you outdoors. After enjoying the sun on the large lawn, you will be drawn safely to the beach volleyball court, while the children can conquer the large playground. The highlight of the aqua park is undoubtedly the slide system: a 20-meter spiral staircase takes you to the starting point of two slides. This is where the 85 meter starts Long Sliding game – it will be great fun for young and old!

For nature lovers and city explorers

Nature lovers will also get their money’s worth in the Hessisches Bergland, as there are numerous zoos and wildlife parks here. One of them is the Wildpark Knüll in Homberg, which you can safely reach from your child-friendly hotel. Over 40 different animal species have found a home on an area of around 50 hectares. You can observe the wildlife on your tour on the approximately 4.5 km long circular path that leads you past red deer, fallow deer and wild sheep. If you would like to find out more about the wildlife park, you can take one of the guided tours.

If you want one little is more hustle and bustle, you can take a trip to Kassel. In the metropolis of North Hesse you can not only shop, but also stroll through one of the numerous museums in the Documenta city. The town of Fulda with its baroque old town and cathedral is also very worthwhile and is sure to please the whole family!
