When other racing teams had long since turned all their focus to 2022, red bull had to keep optimizing the current car for the chance of winning. That cost valuable time and could now take revenge.

Albon: sometimes you have to think short term
"in some respects, you just have to think short term in the championship," admits albon. He himself is not likely to be very torn about it. The Thai drives for williams from now on and thus has a regular Formula 1 cockpit again.
