Who does not remember it, in school or kindergarten you were turned into a children’s birthday party by your classmates and the like invited. This often happened with a self-made card. Nowadays the trend goes back there and I have to say; I think that’s great! This set consists of eight colorful cards and envelopes each. Also included is decoration material, such as: adhesive borders, stickers, yarn, rhinestones and buttons. The stickers in particular come in several designs: numbers, stars, crowns, unicorns or just the word party. The set is designed so that it could also be used for other purposes. It is not expensive either, you can get it online for less than 10 euros.

The good old craft books can sometimes help you a lot. Be it to get just a few nice suggestions or to use the specific handicraft instructions. Or both? I briefly present two craft books here.

Happy colorful children’s birthday: invitations and decorations

The bound book by the author Altmeyer (and other authors) provides many invitations and decorating ideas for children’s birthdays. There is something for boys and girls here. In general, the ideas are rather classic. Cheeky pirates, cool soccer players and wild animals are examples of motifs for boys. For girls, for example, there are pretty princesses, happy mermaids and colorful flowers. Funny faces and original hats complete the festivities. You can view the book here.

Crafts and decorating for the children’s birthday

The second Bastelbuch, which I would like to introduce is from the author Sabine Uhl-Fischer. It is designed for children aged three to nine years. The smaller the kids are, the more help they need when crafting. The book also presents more classic ideas, such as a cheese invitation card or shake card. The crafting is supported with template sheets, which are included. It is slightly cheaper than the book presented above.

Tinker children’s birthday for invitation cards you need the basemap first. There are two possibilities. You can make the basemap yourself. It’s really easy and I’ll explain how in a moment. The alternative is to buy the finished basemap. I picked out a cheap set of 50 cards and envelopes. This set comes in five Colours Delivered with 10 cards and envelopes each.

Simply explained: make your own basic map

Buy color cardboard in the color you need it. There is color cardboard in an unlikely number of colors. I recommend you buy color cardboard in A4 size. It should have a quality of at least 200 grams / m2.

The second step is to cut the A4 sheet. If in doubt, this can be done with scissors, but much better and easier if you have a paper cutter. If you don’t have one, I recommend buying a cutting board and folding board. Halve the paper at 10.5 cm so that you get two cards from one sheet. Now you fold the long side at 14.9 cm and the Basemap is ready tinkered. Then it’s time to decorate.

Invitation cards make children’s birthday horse

How do you want to design the invitation card? I have chosen two options using the example of horses. For one, you could design the card with great horse stickers. They are not that expensive and you can design it individually.

The other options are Coloring pages templates to print. You only have to cut them to size and stick them on. The nice thing about both variants is that the children can easily help design by sticking the stickers or coloring in the pictures.

Simply stamp: unicorn, mermaid and magician

I would like to present another possibility. With some motifs, for example, the use of glossy paper is fun. Like the map in the picture. The Card is square designed with glossy paper and white cardstock and then bestempelt. I have put a tutorial on how to make a unicorn card online.
