On June 22, 2017, the German Bundestag commissioned the Federal Government to set up an interdisciplinary and interministerial working group for a limited period. The working group should jointly propose measures to improve the situation of children with mentally and addicted parents.
The diverse strains of the affected children and their families often require several coordinated help and benefits, mostly from child and youth welfare and from the health system. So far, there has often been a lack of cross-case networking and interdisciplinary cooperation between the different systems.
