Connect iphone, ipad or ipod touch to your car

Here’s how to connect your device to your car radio.

Connect to carplay

Carplay is available in select cars and allows smarter and safer use of your iphone in the car. With carplay, all the functions of your iphone that you want to use while driving are displayed directly in the integrated display of your car.

If your car supports carplay via the USB port, connect the iphone to the USB port of your car or car stereo. the usb port may be marked with a carplay or smartphone icon.

If your car supports wireless carplay, press and hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to configure carplay. Alternatively, make sure that your car is in wireless or bluetooth pairing mode. then go to "settings" on your iphone > "general" > "carplay" > "available cars", and select your car. For more information, please refer to your car’s user manual.

Ipad and ipod touch do not support carplay.

Connecting with bluetooth

1. disable bluetooth under "settings > "bluetooth". Wait ca. 5 seconds, and activate bluetooth again.
2. For more information on pairing with a bluetooth device, refer to your car’s user manual. In most cars, a phone must be set up on the display of the car.
3. If you have multiple phones connected to your car stereo, try renaming your device: select "settings" and enter a new name > "general" > "info" > "name" and enter a new name. Then try the connection again. .
4. make sure your car stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. For more information check the manual of your car.

if you still can’t connect, contact apple support.

Connect via USB playback

and the car new.
1. Make sure your device is unlocked and that the home screen is displayed.
2. if possible, try to connect it with another cable or USB port. check your car’s manual to learn how to connect an apple device.
3. Inspect your charging port for dirt or damage. Make sure the charging cable is plugged in correctly. .
4. make sure your car stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. See your car’s user manual for more information.
5. Try playing sound from another app. If you are unable to play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for support. If audio playback through an apple app doesn’t work, contact apple support.
