The little wood mouse cannot sleep

Children’s story of hibernation – It’s winter and it doesn’t feel like winter at all. There is no snow. There is no frost or ice. The forest animals always wake up from their hibernation. Even the little wood mouse cannot sleep

"I can’t sleep," said the little wood mouse. "I want to feel the sun, smell the forest air and play with my friends."
She crawled out of her bed of leaves in the mouse building and tripped to the cave exit.
"Lie back in your bed and go back to sleep, little mouse!" Said Grandpa Mouse. "It is winter."
The little wood mouse sniffed. “But it doesn’t smell of winter and it doesn’t feel that way. I am warm and I am not tired. "
"Believe me, mouse child! It is winter and we forest animals are resting now. And be quiet! Your parents and siblings are sleeping. They gather strength for spring. Spring is tiring. We then have a lot of wood mouse to do. You too, little mouse. "
"Oh, I already have a lot of strength, you see?"
And before Grandpa Maus knew it, he hopped and gymnastically and danced and tripped the little wood mouse through the mouse cave. She even did a handstand and another and another. Then she was dizzy. With a thump she tipped over at the most beautiful handstand.
There she was sitting on the floor and was a bit scared. Her heart was pounding a little more violently.
"You see!" Said Grandpa Mouse. "You lack the strength. You need to sleep. All wood mice sleep in winter. "
"But I’m not tired at all," protested the little mouse again.
She looked at Grandpa Mouse. "You don’t sleep either."
"Hm hm!" Grandpa Mouse didn’t know any more about that say. Like the little wood mouse, he wasn’t really tired. As well as? He was warm. This winter didn’t feel like winter at all. But he didn’t want to tell the little wood mouse that. Unthinkable how many questions she would ask.
Too late.
"Aren’t you tired, Grandpa Mouse?" Asked the little mouse.
"Yes, yes," replied Grandpa Mouse quickly. "I just wanted to check right away. After all, someone has to on the Watch out for the mouse family. Or?"
"Oh yes!" Cried the little wood mouse, clapping her hands with joy. "And now I’ll help you watch out. And because watching is a boring thing, you tell me one History. Or two or three. I Agree?"
Grandpa Maus sighed. He sighed deeply. Then he told the little wood mouse one story and another and another … and almost the two of them had slept through the hibernation for the stories.
