We work with a multimethod and multidisciplinary treatment concept, i.e. H. Depending on the illness, age, level of development and family constellation, we develop specific concepts for diagnostics and treatment for each patient, including various professional groups.

Depending on the indication, the psychotherapeutic procedure can be behavioral or depth psychological. Psychotherapy in the wards is supplemented by specialist therapeutic offers such as music, dance, movement, art or occupational therapy. Curative education and pediatric nursing measures as well as social pedagogical care round off the offer on the wards.

Psychiatric treatment can also include the administration of medication and the entire UKE is available with its specialist departments for one somatic diagnostics and treatment available. Finally, the clinic school provides adequate educational support.

In our general outpatient clinic we offer advice, diagnostics and, if necessary. therapy for children and adolescents of all ages.

We diagnose and treat, if necessary, the entire spectrum of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders from ADHD to learning disorders to obsessive-compulsive disorders. We have a special offer for addiction problems (see drug and alcohol outpatient clinic).

Our offer includes complete child and adolescent psychiatric diagnostics, family diagnostics and test psychological diagnostics, counseling, crisis intervention, rarely individual and group psychotherapy, drug treatment, parent training, patient training as well as social psychiatric treatment and socio-pedagogical counseling. We also take over the coordination of community-based help and establish contact with authorities, schools and other institutions. For long-term outpatient psychotherapy, we recommend local psychotherapists.

The general procedure is as follows: In an initial interview, the problem of the child or adolescent in the context of his family, school and social environment is recorded. From further discussions and diagnostic examinations, an overall picture is created and a treatment recommendation is agreed in consultation with the patient and his custody. If necessary, contact is made with school and youth welfare and further treatment needs are initiated in a joint case conference.

We work in an interdisciplinary team of doctors, psychologists, child and adolescent psychotherapists and social educators. We are Part of the regional health care network in Hamburg and cooperate closely with other clinics, resident doctors and therapists as well as municipal institutions.
