Online appointment scheduling

We have good news! From now on we will use the digital appointment management service from Doctolib. Appointments can be made online using Doctolib. Appointment confirmations and appointment reminders are automatically sent via email and SMS. And if appointments have to be canceled, this can also be done conveniently online. We hope that this will make it even easier to assign appointments.

Important NOTE
To ensure that treatments work as effectively as possible, our morning appointments are reserved for kindergarten and preschool children and our afternoon appointments for school children. As an ordering practice, we always strive to make the appointment organization as efficient as possible. To minimize your waiting time, treatment appointments are reserved exclusively for you. In the event of missed appointments that are not canceled at least 24 hours before the start of treatment Monday to Friday, we have no opportunity to allocate the time already reserved for you to other patients. We therefore ask that cancellations are only made in urgent cases, but no later than Monday to Friday at least 24 hours before the treatment. Unfortunately, we have to invoice you for appointments that have not been canceled in time in accordance with § 615 (1) BGB in the amount of € 50. In the event of a cancellation due to illness less than 24 hours before treatment, a medical certificate must be submitted on the day of the cancellation.

All of our treatments are based on intensive trust building. This build-up of trust contributes significantly to reducing any existing fears. The conversion of fears into sustainable trust is an important prerequisite for gaining a positive attitude towards oral hygiene in general and visiting the dentist in particular. The positive atmosphere and the building of trust by explaining the respective steps let the children relax and feel good. The combination of our gentle treatment with the distraction from the pictures on the TV puts the children in a comfortable atmosphere. Approaches to hypnosis and child-friendly language help to distract children from the dental treatment and instead generate positive images. Services

Our services are based on the current knowledge in pediatric dentistry. The range of treatment covers all necessary and beneficial areas of prevention, care and aftercare. We use the digital X-ray method for diagnosis. It is the low-radiation X-ray procedure and is therefore particularly suitable for taking reports, especially in children. If your child has tooth decay, we have the laughing gas or general anesthesia available as therapy aids for calming and pain reduction in addition to targeted behavior. When coordinating what exactly needs to be done, we always work according to the motto "as little as possible, as much as necessary".

For children whose teeth have small caries on the tooth surface or in the interdental spaces, we offer the removal of the caries and the subsequent treatment of the holes with a cement or plastic filling. After the surrounding skin has been made insensitive to pain with an ointment, we numb the affected tooth. Due to this preparation, the extremely careful approach and the targeted distraction of the child, the anesthetic is perceived by our patients as a feeling of pressure at most. Then the teeth are isolated from the rest of the mouth with a kind of rubber blanket. This draining of the tooth serves to protect the surrounding tissue from the rotating instrument. It also enables a stable adhesive bond to be made in the case of plastic filling and avoids bad taste in the mouth. Finally, the teeth are fluoridated. This strengthens the tooth enamel and is proven to be the most effective method for preventing tooth decay. Tooth fillings are important so that the teeth are preserved and thus their aesthetics and function.

Our team

The Kinderlieb dental practice is run by the founder and pediatric dentist, Dr. Özel headed. Miss Dr. Özel was interested in medical care for children at an early age and initially trained as a pediatric nurse at the children’s hospital on the Bult in Hanover. Subsequently, Dr. Özel Zahnmedizin at the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen, where she later did her doctorate. She then moved to Hamburg, where she worked as a pediatric dentist in the dental practice for children and adolescents of Dr. Melanie Elger and the dental practice for children of Dr. Katharina Dorandt was active. In parallel to her work, Dr. Özel regularly undergoes further training in children’s dentistry, such as the curriculum for hypnosis and communication in dentistry, nitrous oxide certification, the curriculum for pediatric and adolescent dentistry at the Philipp Pfaff Institute and the curriculum for orthodontics at the Haranni Academie.
