The Britax Römer story

Regardless of whether it’s a bike tour or the way to the bakery – children can always be there thanks to Britax Römer! The safe transportation of parents and their children is the company’s primary goal. In 1966 Britax Römer made their first child seats. Since then, they have dedicated themselves entirely to child safety.

For more than 50 years, Britax Römer has spared no expense in order to continuously develop its products and make traveling with children even safer and easier. Today, in addition to child bike seats, the company also produces child car seats and prams.

Jockey relax & Jockey Comfort

Britax Römer currently offers two child bike seats to choose from: Jockey Relax and Jockey Comfort. Both models are suitable for children from 9 months to 5 years and carry a weight of 9 to 22 kg. Both are mounted directly behind the driver using a special bracket. There are inserts for a wide range of tube diameters to choose from – the seats are therefore suitable for all common bikes. Once the seat is installed, the child can be comfortably strapped to the seat with one hand while the bike is held with the other hand.

Of course, the strict safety features are the same for both models. An extra large spoke protector prevents children’s feet from getting into the spokes and the foot straps ensure that feet stay where they should be. The comfortable belt system can be adjusted with one hand.

The Jockey Relax guarantees a relaxed ride for the whole Family. It convinces with an adjustable backrest that can be adjusted either in the sitting or in the resting position. Stable spring steel brackets skillfully dampen shocks. Multi-adjustable footrests ensure that the bike seat grows with the child.

The Comfort variant has the same features as the Relax model, only there are a few additional Customization options. In addition to the footrests, the height of the headrest and sitting position can also be adjusted. The belt system is a bit larger and softer than the Relax variant.

Made in Europe

Britax Römer is strongly committed to production in Europe, since the company is closely rooted in Germany and England. The new headquarters in Leipheim was opened in 2016. Thanks to this new location, 90% of child bike seats can be produced in either Germany or the UK. All fabrics and covers of the seats are also made exclusively in Europe.
